Three hours later

Regina

Robin left the room an hour ago to let me sleep, I've tried to but I can't, my whole body hurts from yesterday and it's starting to get uncomfortable. I keep checking on my daughter every two minutes too, every movement or noise she makes causes me to whip my head around to make sure she's okay.

There's a gentle knocking on the door, making me turn my head. My mother stands in the doorway, a weak smile on her face.

"Hello dear" she whispers

"Hi" I whisper, my voice croaky

"How are you feeling sweetheart?" she asks

"Very, very sore" I mumble, struggling to sit up

"I'll go and get you some that magical rectangular capsule that makes you better" she offers, referring to pain killers

"They're called pain killers mother" I laugh

"That's them" she mumbles, walking into the bathroom

After about five minutes, she comes back out with two in her hand and a glass of water, handing both of them to me.

"Thank you" I smile, taking the pills and putting them into my mouth, swallowing the water with them

Suddenly, Grace wakes up and starts to cry, wriggling around in the crib for attention. Cora picks her up and rocks her gently in her arms.

"Now, now missy, there's no need for that, grandma has you, its okay" she coos

"I think she needs feeding" I suggest

"I'll magic up a bottle, you can't breastfeed when you're sore" she suggests

I nod silently, not arguing

My mother clicks her fingers and a bottle of milk appears. She places it gently into her mouth and she starts drinking it slowly.

"So, how's everything with Robin?" she asks, rocking Grace in her arms

"Alright, we're okay. I don't want to be angry at him forever; it's not fair on the kids, I don't want them growing up without a father" I sigh

"You're right Regina, I don't want you to be unhappy, but if he hurts you again," she starts

"I know mother, I know" I interrupt her

"I would suggest getting some rest; you'll feel better once you've rested. I'll take care of Grace for a while and Robin can see her for a bit while you sleep" she instructs me

I nod, too tired to argue as I sink into the pillows. My eyes closing almost straight away...
