Chapter 5

Diamond

"Stop it Tank". I hear Chardenay laugh. We were in the auditorium skipping class. Chardenay and her boyfriend Tylo were on the stage behind the curtains doing God-knows-what and me and Brice were sitting in the audience laughing at them. Tylo who everyone at Central Queens knows as Tank had been Chardenay's boyfriend since the ending of the eigth grade. He was always at her house after school on weekdays when the twins momma wasn't home. He was dark chocolate like Chardenay and had style when it came to his clothes, but I couldn't find him cute. He just wasn't my type, but girls were always throwing their pussies at him and I couldn't even count how many times Tank cheated on Chardenay. Everyone knows, but her. She's just so clueless. She loves him and she's only fourteen. She thinks that they're going to grow old together like in them white people movies, but I knew better. I knew that Tank was going to have another boo thang by the summer time. I sit there chatting with Brice. I couldn't understand how Cleondra could be friends with her. She was weird and she was ratchet. I knew that she was my friend, but that's because I had no choice but to be. She was always there and she hit me up on everything girls were saying about me. Don't get me wrong, I only get talked about by hatin' ass bitches and ratchet bitches with no clothes and no life's. All the pretty girls with their heads screwed on right and had every boy drooling after them like I did liked me because I was just like them. Not trying to brag, but sometimes you were lucky enough to even be seen talking to me because once somebody thinks you know Diamond Rosemont, then they think you know everybody, and they want you to know them too. Sometimes, I made people's social life's.

Brice was telling me all what Dahnaysjia was saying after our argument two weeks ago. I knew she was only talking shit about me because she wanted attention. At Central Queens, when a bitch starts talkin' shit, they want to fight and that's what everybody was waiting for. Our fight. "hey yall". Ce'lo says coming into the auditorium. Ce'lo was Brice's boyfriend and we hit him up about us cutting class. He was Dominican and had cream colored skin. He dressed in long T-shirts and baggy jeans that sagged off of his ass because that was his style. He wasn't even from Queens. He was from Harlem, but we all loved him and excepted him like he was our own. He walked down the aisle and stopped at our row. He then turned to the side and scooted into the row until he found a seat next to Brice. After Ce'lo sat down, Brice immediately turned to cup his face and forced her lips onto his. That was my que to leave. I knew that me and Brice's conversation was threw so I got up and headed to the stage. I climbed the stairs and drew back the curtain enough for me to step through and I cover my mouth trying not to laugh so hard. There was Chardonnay with Tank kissing and sucking on her her neck. I inched closer to them until Tank saw me. "What the fuck"? He asked hurrying to get away from Chardenay. She opened her eyes and quickly fluffed her hair.

"Dang, was yall horny or what"? I laughed.

"Shut up Diamond". Chardenay laughed.

"So Dah is still talking shit". I say. "She's gettin' everybody hyped about this fight that we're supposed to have".

"That's just her". Chardenay says. "You know she will do anything in her power to make you look bad, but she just keeps making herself look stupid because she's failing at it.....I mean everyone loves you Diamond and she wants to whop yo ass just so she can say she did in the future".

"True that.....I just don't want to fight her though".

"Why? you scared"?

"Hell no I ain't scared.......I'm just smart. If I fight her, I could go to jail and I don't want that to happen". I say smiling at Chardenay.
