Diamond

                  Weeks had started to roll by and one morning, I had gotten a phone call from an unfamiliar number. I rolled over on my side and answered it. "Hello". I said sleepily.

"Ayye Diamond. This is Meyelda". I heard a pretty voice say. I rolled my eyes. Why was this bitch calling me so early in the damn morning?

"Hi Meyelda.....what do you want"? I asked.

"To see if you wanted to hang with me and Giovanna today. We heard that your birthday was in a couple of days so we wanted to take you out".

"What's the catch? I haven't seen yall in a long time and some how you get my number and call me out of no where"?

"Diamond, it isn't like that. Me and Giovanna are just going to the spa and we're gonna do a little shopping later". I smirked at Meyelda's words. They thought that since I made Dee and Alex some ballers now and that they were dating them, that they could spend all of their money when ever they wanted.

"Okay cool". I said agreeing. I wanted to see what these girls were about. "Where yall at"?

"I'm over at Dee's new place. You can come get me, then we can go and pick up Giovanna from Alex's".

"Okay, sounds like a plan". I said hanging up the phone and going to the shower. It was mid July and Meyelda was right. My birthday was in a couple of days and I would be nineteen. I was tired of this small hustle that we had in the basement of my momma's house and wanted to do something new. Two months back, the cameras I had down there caught one of the girls stealing some of the coke on the DL so Dee brought her to my place and I beat her ass like she was a bitch in the street. We took pictures and showed them to the other girls and they quickly got the memo. Dee shredded the pictures then disposed of them and I felt good about myself after that. The bitch pissed me off and I did something about it. After that, I haven't did much of anything. I just continued to get money and I have to admit, Meyelda inviting me out was pretty nice.

            After getting out of the shower, I dressed in blue jeaned booty shorts, a baggy off-white tank top, and some beige pumps to slide my feet in. I straightened my hair and since the salon added more virgin hair to it, it fell down to my back. My brown shades graced my face as I grabbed a straw sun hat, my purse, and got gone. I hopped in my Acura and headed to Dee's condo. Dee's new duplex was layed out. It was big like a house, but had another side to it for someone else to live in. I pulled up and honked my horn a couple of times. Even though I barely liked Meyelda and Giovanna, I knew that I had to start making new friends because I wasn't in high school anymore and friends weren't around me. I missed the twins, but with me and Cleondra's falling out, Chardenay had been staying away from me too. I saw Meyelda step out of the house and lock the door. She had on a green summer dress, with green heels, and a floppy, green sun hat. She walked to my car cautious of her every step so she wouldn't fall. She hopped in the front seat and greeted me with a big smile on her face. I smiled back and to cut conversation short, I turned up the stereo and blasted Lil Kim and some DMX. I backed out of Dee's driveway and headed to Alex's to pick up Giovanna. It was a hell of a drive, but I made it to Alex's two story house and she got in the car looking like a hooker with her skin tight black dress that stopped at the start of her thigh's, and big black pumps on her feet from Nine West. When she got into the back seat she was so happy to see Meyelda and they talked over my music making me aggravated. I drove to Jamaica, Queens and we went to a day spa. Me and the girls hopped out of the car and went inside the five star building admiring the set up and scenery. Meyelda told the clerk about our appointments and then a lady escorted us to a changing room. We got out of our clothes leaving on our bras and panties and pulled on terry cloth robes. The lady then came back and led us to massage tables where I listened to the girls talk the whole time and got a breath taking massage. The lady then led us to get pedicures and that was my chance to get to know them. We all sat in three big, brown, leather chairs side by side. Meyelda was in the middle of me and Giovanna and she was talking my ear off. I then spoke up because I was tired of being the odd one out and that never happened to me until this day. "So........how's it like dating the boys"? I asked them. Meyelda turned to me and cheesed. I hated being the third wheel so I was glad that I spoke up.
