Struggle #18

 The saying "Life in the Fast lane" sure does live up to its name. Tour life is a compilation of every day chaos complete with interviews, ustreams, photo shoots, promos and more. By the time the second week of touring rolled around I was completely spent...and I'm not even the one performing every night.

 Between flying across the US and late nights on the tour bus, I'm beginning to really miss my queen sized bed at home. But there's no way I'd trade in my life on the road just yet. I enjoy seeing the behind the scenes action that takes place to make Mindless Behavior the extraordinary boy band that so many teenage girls are deep in love with. Plus, I actually have more than one friend here. I mean of course I'm grateful for Jayla, that's my girl till we die, but being around people that accept and act just like me makes me feel wanted and loved.

  "No Ray stop!" I say, inching backwards and elbowing him in the chest. We're at the pool since it's their day off and Ray convinced me to go up on the diving board with him. Now I know how to swim, but jumping off a high platform into a body of water isn't exactly what I called exciting. But the new me wants to take risk and live while I'm young, I just dont want to die doing it.

  "Come on Kacey, don't be a baby." He say, nudging me towards the edge of the diving board again.

  I whirl around on him with my hands on my hips, "Dont act all big now, you just learned to swim like two years ago. I've been doing this since I was in pampers."

  Ray holds his hand over his heart, "Ouch, that one hurt."

  I laugh as Roc steps onto the diving board, making it bounce dangerously. He picks me up and moves me out the way. "Let the pro handle this." He says cockily. I take in his caramel colored back, glistening with water droplets. Lord knows he made a good piece of work when it came to sculpting Roc's body. His muscles are all that and more.

  Roc bounces on the diving board a few times, testing it's springy-ness before running and jumping forward, curling his body into ball. "Cannon ball!" He shouts, before splashing into the water, spraying Keisha and Kenneth. I laugh as Ray steps around me, "See you at the bottom." He salutes just before striding forward and leaping off the board, diving perfectly into the water.

  "Wait, don't leave me up here by myself!" I exclaim, peering cautiously down below. Ray and Roc are high fiving each other while the others look up at me. Everyone else has already jumped from the diving board, now they're waiting for me to put on my big girl panties and just jump.

  "Just do it Kay," Joya yells up to me. "It's like you're flying but it will be over before you know it!"

  "ok just...just give me a minute." I yell back. I inch back from the edge of the diving board to catch my breath and relax. It's not like I'm going to die anything, I'm jumping off a diving board not a cliff. And I'll be landing safely in water...unless I land on my back. That would hurt like hell. From the pool, I hear Prince's voice yell up to me. "Come on Kacey, you can do it. I'm waiting down here for you." He says in a flirty voice. Everyone begins laughing at his tone and I can't help but smile.

  I take a deep breath and count to three before running, bouncing and jumping off. Grabbing my nose, I curl myself into a ball like Roc did, feeling myself drop to the bottom. For a moment I feel weightless and free, then all too soon I'm plunging deep into the warm water. I unfold myself and swim to the surface to be met by applause from the others.

  "Yay, she finally did it after 30 years!" Renee teases. I laugh and splash her in the face, happy that I finally got it over with.

  "That was so fun, I wanna do it again!" I exclaim, already swimming towards the stairs to get out.
