Chapter 12 : Unfolding the PAST

Gabby's (POV)

You used to talk to me like I was the only one around ¶♯¶
You used to lean on me, the only other choice was falling down ¶♯¶.........

I kinda heard my cellphone is ringing, pero dahil pakiramdam ko guni-guni lang, hindi ko yun binigyan ng pansin. Not until I heard the chorus of the song na nakapagpadilat sa akin.

...We used to have this figured out, we used to breathe without a doubt ¶♯¶
The nights were clearer for the first time that I'd see ¶♯¶....

Dahan dahan kong kinapa ang cellphone na nasa bulsa at tatamad-tamad na tinignan kung sino ang tumatawag. When I saw who is calling, I press the accept button habang nakadukdok pa din sa lamesa.

"Hello Sweetheart! " masiglang bungad ng nasa kabilang linya.

"Hi Dad." Sa mahinang tinig at medyo paos na boses.

"I heard the good news anak, and i'm so, so, so... proud of you Gabrielle." halata sa tinig nito ang hindi maitago na kasiyahan.

I bet he's talking about the deal that we were about to close. Ang bilis talaga ng balita, wala pang kalahating araw heto at kumalat na kaagad. Tsk! Sangkaterba talaga ang tsismosa sa Head Office oo.

"it's not yet official Dad, wag po muna kayong mag-expect lets just wait until both parties signed the respective contract" sawata ko sa kausap.

"Sus! Dun din ang punta nun. You closed 3 big deals nito lang 1st quarter of the year that's why i'm confident na sa atin na nila ibibigay ang Project dahil I trusted you anak" i sighed sharply when i heard his proud voice.

"your pressuring me Dad" reklamo ko.

Masyado kasing advance ang utak eh hindi pa nga naiko close ang deal.

"i'm sorry sweetheart, this old man here is just happy" hingi nya ng paumanhin.

"it's okay Dad" i said to him. After a while tumahimik sa kabilang linya. Heto na naman ang awkward silence na inaantay ko and as if on que, isinatinig na nya ang linyang memorize ko na eversince.

"anak..... " then he paused and sighed.

".. we miss you so badly. Kelan ka ba uuwi dito sa atin? Your Kuya's and Ate are keep on pestering me and asking you to come home. Everyone is looking for you including your cousins Nate, Sami and Dreek. They even planning to abduct you para maiuwi ka na dito, alam mo ba yun ?" i heard he laughed sa huling sinabi nya.

Hindi ko rin naiwasan ang matawa sa sinabi ni Daddy. Knowing my cousins, abnormal ang mga ito to the highest level and i'm not surprised na nagbanta sila ng ganun, even if it's a joke i know kaya nilang totohanin yun. Lalo na si Dreek na syang pinaka notorius sa kagaguhan. Palibhasa anak ng General kaya lumaking bad boy sa magpipinsan. I know they have miss me so much, eh bakit nga hindi, simula pa ng mga bata kami, silang tatlo na ang kasama ko sa kalokohan.

I smirked in the memories ng pukawin ako ni Daddy.

"hija, are you still there?"

The reality went back ng marinig ko ang tinig nya.

"yeah i'm still here.. .. " then i pause and sighed heavily. How i want to be with them again pero hindi pa sa ngayon.

"..namimiss ko din po kayo .... but i'm sorry Dad, hindi pa ako makakauwi sa ngayon but you know what? I promise to come home soon" bawi ko sa huling tinuran.
