Chapter 21
Haden's pov
I shut my eyes, trying to shake the doubtful thoughts that clouded my mind, I fell to the ground not even thinking about the rain that streamed down my face. My heart was crumbling and I swallowed the frustrated scream building up inside of me.
Tonight was the night I was going to tell Kayla that I loved her. I was so naive to think she would ever love me back, a girl like that would never fall for a player like me.
The cold hard truth hit me like a bullet, Kayla rejected my as her mate. Not officially but in a way that broke my will to live : Kayla was getting married.
I couldn't help the single tear that trailed down my cheeks as the thought crossed my mind, nothing had ever meant more to me as soon as I met Kayla. I ran a hand through my disheveled hair, cringing as the cold water splattered against my skin.
My fists were clenched so tightly that my knuckles gleamed a bone white. I buried my hands in my pockets, and sucked in the chilly summer air. Kayla deserved better than me, hell if I was her I would reject me too.
I felt my body slumping over, I slid to the ground biting the inside of my cheek. Trying to feel something other than the emptiness that echoed inside of me. My eyelids slowly fluttered open, staring blankly at the thunderous clouds over head.
I sighed, shaking my head sadly. The only thing I want from Kayla is for her to be happy, even of it means letting her go.
