Chapter 5

*Two weeks later*

* Sophie's POV *

We just arrived in Omaha, Nebraska at 10:00 pm, which means that we have made it into the final four of the NCAA.

Our first game in the semifinals is tomorrow against Texas.

As soon as we got into our hotel room, Avery and I went to bed and slept in until 9:00, we got up and got ready for our game.

The game was starting at 3 pm but we had to be there by 1 pm. We got to there arena and stretched while coach went over the lineup.

After coach went over the lineup I gave my pep talk: this game is so important girls, this is make it or break it. If we win we go on to the National Championship, if we lose we go to the constellation game which is still good but we would all prefer to be in the Championship game and I definitely think we can there. Its definitely not going to be easy but this team can do it, we are such a good volleyball team and all of our supporters know it, so let's go out and win this, not only for ourselves but for our fans.

At 2:15 we went out onto the court and started warmups.

As soon as 3 o'clock rolled around we were being introduced.

Captains meeting called and Sophie Adams walks away with serve for the Shockers

Mini warmups are starting and pregame interviews are also starting, Kelsey has Wichita State captain Sophie Adams, Kelsey?

Yes, I'm here with Sophie Adams, Sophie is it true that your family is in the crowd watching this game?

Yes, they are right over there, and that's why this game is even more important to me than it should be because my family is here and I definitely want a win.

Excellent, how are you feeling before this game?

Well I still get a little nervous before games, but I really think we can win this and get to the championship.

The game started with me serving like usual and we won the first set and the second set, lost the third set, and won the fourth, moving us into the National Championship!

Girls were in the finals!!!!!! I yelled as I walked into the locker room after the game.

* Jonathan's POV *

I watched Sophie's whole game on TV with Kaner, Sharpie, his wife, his child, and Crow.

They won! We all jumped up and cheered as they scored the last point.

Into the finals they go.

I should try to get out there for their game, I thought to myself.

I told that idea to the rest of the people in my house and they all agreed and wanted to come along if we could go.

The next morning after practice, Kaner, Sharpie, Crow, and I talked to coach about going to see the championship and he said we could go.

So when are we leaving? Kaner asked as we walked into the dressing room.

Well the games on Saturday so we'll probably leave on Friday, which is only two days away so I'll buy plane and game tickets for all of you and can pay me back later, I said.

You guys are leaving? Shawzy asked.

Yeah, were going to see Sophie and Avery play in the National Championship, Kaner said.
