I always wanted to do poetry but never felt like anything I wrote was worth being shared until recently. I have been having a lot of issues in my personal life lately, and from my depression always comes my best art. So lately my notebooks have been filling with my best sketches, stories, and poems. I thought I would share some of my better poems. Most of the first few are about someone close to me who has been having problems in her personal life as well. These poems were my gift to her to let her know that she can be greater than the burdens she bears, and that she will always have me.

I was inspired to get back into poetry by another friend of mine who has her own book of poetry on wattpad. She goes by AllyMally12345 so go check her out. I was also inspired by two other poets that I found on wattpad, and have come to love their poems as well. These people go by taylormariem and Palestinian on wattpad. No idea who they are but their poetry is breath taking.

Thanks to all my friends, family, and favorite musicians who inspired me. I hope everyone enjoys...

(just so you know, some things will have to be thought about a little more than others in some of my poems to find the hidden meanings. I also referenced a popular song by Twenty One Pilots in this particular poem. If you know the band, you're extra awesome to me. ;)

The Belle of the Ball

This is a story

of the Belle of the ball

in a world of emo snapbacks

and dancing on walls

her daddy throws a mean punch

and her mama's got a no-good part time job.

took her out for nine in the afternoon brunch

she didn't want to get lost in the stereotypical mob

-

In my understanding, she put her faith.

rolled up her goth girl sleeve,

a grinning frown on her face

it was time for fantasy to take its leave

-

don't flash your scars.

let me cure your bruises,

replenesh your lost blood.

there are no loses

I'll win every game for you

the world can't lose you.

the Belle of the ball gotta shine

like a sad story on rewind.

-

don't forget you've got me

forever and always

with my heart on my sleeve.

here, my comfort to you, will be.

-

I'll wash away your hurt

when you are pushed down,

I'll pull you up from the dirt

remove you from the shadows of your parents mistakes.

I'll take you to heaven

throwing wishes on penny's in tiny lakes

I'll turn your dark past into sunshine

and build you a house of gold

on heaven's clouds, and give you pretty things.

never leave you alone

even when your father turns to stone.

I'll stay with you

in our house of gold

-

don't flash your scars.

let me cure your bruises,

replenesh lost blood.

there are no loses.

I'll win every game for you,

the world can't lose you.

the Belle of the ball gotta shine

like a sad story on rewind.

-

you can stay here, safe and warm.

I'll worry about the bills.

you just lay back and enjoy my world

I've built for you.

no pain. no harm.

just warmth and promises never broken

let your eyes open

to a world of wonder,

beautiful and peaceful,

a world of sunshine and gold that I built from your scars.

-

there will never be scars again.

no cure needed, gone are the bruises.

no loses.

these games I win for you.

I could never risk losing you.

the Belle of the ball,

her true colors will shine

like a beautiful story,

no need for rewind.
