Father of the Podium, the Faith

--

You call yourself a leader, a lover, a brother

and you preach how people should live their lives

but you don't know the pain we cover

your ways are known to, with angst, smother

-

you think you're so kind

and that you are always right.

you say you're open, but truth is, you got a closed mind.

you think everyone is wrong when they argue with you

can't you just once see the other side?

this is the life roller coaster

and your forgiveness isn't tall enough to ride

-

23 out of 24 hours spent smiling

the rest, whining

-

crinkling your brow with anger

squinting your eyes in judgement

tapping your foot in discouragement

moving your lips in scolding

the lines on your forehead, folding

-

don't you see the hurt you cause,

putting my life on pause.

you always say to me that "it's a part of life"

making me want to knock my own head in

gouge out my eyeballs

slash open my skin

-

stop making the same excuse for simple things

housework tasks you give me are not "a part of life"

it's an act of hygenic proportions,

societies expectations,

and common courtesy.

"a part of life" would be something biologic,

scientific, revolutionary, etcetera

not something so menial; primitive, minimal.

that's just fucking psychotic!

-

All I hear from you is excuses

set down your pride and listen to the music

open your eyes

don't fantasize

this is reality

it's time for you to get a hold on it

there's no specific mold on it

so don't try to make one

live life to the fullest

and your task is done
