My Apologies, Ms. Alice

-

I whole-heartedly apologize for the wounded condition

of our friendship

caused by my self-centered decisions

-

lately, I've had a lot on my mind 

trying to kill me

so I keep it all inside my head

so I don't scare you instead

-

I struggle to keep my facade normal

with all these problems swirling in my mind

so I apologize for the way I lash out

and how I say so in writing; not spoken; informal

-

the reason I took out the anger of my inner turmoil on you

is not because I care for you any less than the others; true

but because of the opposing, you see

it's because of the ways you're better than me

better than we

-

I point out your flaws because you're the only one that has so few

which is exactly what makes me lesser than you

-

you truly are an inspiration to me

you're talented, you see

you're beautiful and smart

with a head full of art

you're strong-willed and out spoken

your positive demeanor; a treasure; a token

-

nothing bad that I say

could ever change the way

that you're the best this day

-

so I'll try to keep my jealous mouth shut

and just enjoy the fact

that you're my friend

and not mourn the things I lack

-

I love you

it's true

but because my mouth can move faster than my brain at times

I'll mess up a lot

and act like I've forgot

how lucky I am to know you

-

so I apologize now

for how

I've been acting lately, 

and if you've come to hate me

simply know

that no matter how idiotically far I go

I will always look up to you

and care about you too
