Chapter Forty-eight: Burning Bridges

- Audrina Calista -

Callie didn't care what Asher Woodsen's reaction would be pagkatapos niyang sabihin dito ang sikreto niya. She did not shed tears either. Ubos na ang luha niya, kagabi pa.

Naisip niya kasi, maybe if she speaks about the matter baka sakaling gumaan ang nararamdaman niya. Kailangan niya ng kausap.

Mukhang si Asher ang bininigay sa kanya.

Bago kasi ito pumasok, Callie was contemplating on going home or staying here.

Well, 'Home' doesn't really seem to be a real home for her. Their mansion in California made her feel empty. All she has is her Mom.

Her Mom's been contacting her for a week now.

Callie sighed. She doesn't know what to do.

Enzo shut the door between them, from then on everything became pointless for her. Ganito ba dapat ang nararamdaman niya?

Callie's not sure if she is feeling the right emotions. If it's really her or just some personality he created in her.

She wants to unattach herself from Enzo Heath ngunit hindi iyon ganon kadali. He left a mark on her. She doesn't know if it will ever come off.

While walking along the side walk of Town Square, Callie turned to Asher.

He doesn't look like a guy with family problems.

Callie found it hard to believe him. She had met Cain Woodsen because somehow their families are still connected. All they agreed to each other is to listen.

"You Mum," she gave him a sideway glance. "How is she now?"

"She good," Asher shrugged. "Feeling ko nasanay na rin siya sa presence ni Casper simula noon. Hindi naman sila nag away sa harap ko or anything but I know she's hurt"

Bumuntong hininga ito. "I never heard of Aunt Erine since then. No one mentions her in family gatherings, even extended family gatherings. It's like she never existed"

"Your families are really close. Sinclaires and Woodsens, I mean. Alam ba nila?"

"I guess they know. No one opens up the topic. Siguro para na rin kay Mum at kay Casper"

"I've seen you brother," Callie remembers the blue eyed Woodsen.

Asher chuckled. "That's what they all say"

Callie smiled slightly. "You know, you're still lucky to have a sibling. Hindi lahat ay nabibigyan ng kapatid"

Asher just shook his head.

They were walking in silence for a few minutes until Asher declared that he's leaving.

"Nasaan ang sasakyan mo?" He asked.

"Just 'round the corner"

Tumango naman ito. "So... I'll see you then?"
