Chapter Sixty: Point of no return

Asher jolts fully awake when he heard rustling outside.

Plano niyang sulitin ang araw niya ngayon. No one's gonna stop him since he's alone.

He's supposed to be alone.

Flame's already long gone and Asher's been spending his days with Ezra. Uuwi na siya mamaya to spend the rest of the holiday break with his family. Naka impake na nga siya.

He wished na sana pwede i-deactivate ang vampire sense para makatulog ulit siya.

Grumbling colorful curses, Asher threw the duvet off his naked body. The AC is still set on high at walang pumapasok na sikat ng araw sa kwarto niya. He doesn't want to get acquainted with the sun at the moment.

Putting on some sweatpants he found on the floor, Asher stumbled out of the room.

Once his foot touched the hall alam niyang may kakaiba. Hindi talaga siya nag iisa dito ngayon. Who the hell would intrude this early?

The intruder seems to be in the kitchen.

"What the fuck?" Asher blinked pero kahit ilang beses niyang gawin iyon Casper's apparition doesn't seem to go away.

"Hi?" His brother laughed nervously. Napa kamot ito ng ulo at mukhang bagong gising din.

"I know what this is," Asher laughed. "Antok lang 'to. Shit. Matutulog nga ulit ako"

Babalik na sana siya sa kwarto when Casper called, "Kuya?"

Shit. He's real.

"Bloody hell," Asher shook his head. Unti-unti nang nawawala ang antok niya pero hindi parin siya sigurado.

"Lift your arms," utos niya dito.

Casper obliged.

"Punch yourself"

"Uh," Casper fidgets. "I don't want to?"

"Ikaw nga 'yan," Asher grimaced. "Anong ginagawa mo dito?"

"We got here this morning?" Mukhang hindi pa ito sigurado sa sagot.

"Mum and Dad?"

Casper frowned. "Mum said they had to attend an important meeting before I fell asleep. It's an emergency."

Asher cursed when realization dawned on him. "So my trip's canceled since you guys are here?"

"Uh yeah I guess..."

"You should've told me!" He threw his arms up in disbelief. Hindi siya nanghihinayang sa ginastos niya for the flight kasi pera lang naman yon. Nanghihinayang siya sa effort niya sa pag impake!

"Mum wanted to surprise you but she's not here so suprise?" Casper laughed nervously again.

"I already packed!" Asher grit his teeth. At marami pa ang inimpake niya since it will be a long freakin stay.

"We know," Casper smiled slightly. "Mum wanted to give you a heads up but Dad told her not to. He thought it would be funny"

"Oh it's funny alright..." Asher closed his eyes. He wanted to smack his Dad on the head right now. With a freakin brick.

"Kuya, do you have food here?"

So that's what he's been looking for.

Asher sighed. "Sorry buddy. Flame ordered to empty out the pantry and the fridge before I leave since we thought we'd be gone for a while."
