"Why would you do that?" I scream and collapse across Damon's body.

He's breathing but his chest is raising in quick, short breaths.

His lips slightly parted as his dry lips gasp for air.

His eyes are widened as he stares at me intently, like he wants to speak.

Suddenly my mind is wiped of any anger or hatred towards him.

This look in his eyes was heartbreaking and I couldn't take it.

My hand covers his gun wound and I cup his face. My eyes blurred by my tears.

"He was trying to look out for you the whole time and eventually turn us in." Harry says in an annoyed tone.

The mental pain and agony I was enduring was unbearable.

Damon was alive...but I had a feeling he wouldn't pull through.

So all this time that Damon has been working against me...was to save me?

I was ready to fight, throw everything I had behind me just for this moment.

Just to save Damon, I didn't care about myself.

"I said I would join you my family again. I'll do whatever you want, just please don't hurt him anymore." I beg and Harry glances down me in disgust.

So much for my intimidating talk.

A Merchant never begged for mercy, it was like a rule of thumb.

"It's reassurance just in case you try to double cross us too. You'll have nothing to go back too. And on that note, your little Pretty Boy has been taken care of too." He says and I shake my head in disbelief.

Raphael?

My eyes closed as possibilities flashed through my mind.

No good deed went unpunished and I was certainly feeling it now.

But also all the bad feeds, I had committed as well...karma was certainly a bitch.

But then again, maybe I deserved it. Fuck it, I did deserve it.

"Where the hell is Keegan?" I say, throwing my hands up in the air.

I wanted to face my older brother now.

"On his way, then the real fun begins." Emily suddenly says with a sly smirk.

I was getting ready to rip that smile off her face.

"Is this because I ran away?" I ask curiously.

Surely she must've been holding some personal grudge against me.

Why team up with outsiders?

A Merchant never did that. Another rule of thumb.

I needed to know why. I needed answers.

"No. It was the plan you had." She retorts and I stare at my heartless sister.

"It would have worked if you had listened." I spat hastily.

"No. It wouldn't have. Your plan was absurd and it wouldn't have worked." She says and I frown.

"Yes, it would have! If you had given it a chance." I complain.

She was blaming the whole situation on me when it technically was.

Although everything would have worked out if they all had listened.
