We Save Our World (私たちの世界を救います) [Completed]

Part.1 A Normal Day No Longer

I sigh as I stare at my alarm clock, cursing myself for waking up before it went off and not getting the extra minute and a half of sleep.

"Well, at least I woke up on time." I say to myself. I stretch, reaching my arms above my head and letting out a high pitched groan of sorts. I unplug my alarm and spare myself the moment of being startled in the next thirty seconds that it was expected to go off. "On the bright side... I didn't have to wake up as early as I usually do. I really hate having to go to work before and after school. At least it's Saturday and I don't have to go in for a good thirty minutes." I smile a little. "Alright Setsuna. Let's have a great day!" I say to myself with a fist pump. I stand up and brush my hair, slipping on my house shoes as I do so. "Hmm... Pigtails? No pigtails? Pigtails." I grab my ribbons and tie my long red hair into pigtails on either side of my head. After I eat, I put on my maid outfit and prepare myself to head to work at the cafe.

After getting off the train, I ran to the cafe to make sure I got to work on time. I slowly push open the door.

"Oh? I'm on time." I look at the clock facing me and I was five minute early. "Thank god." I say, breathily.

"Good morning, Setsuna!" My boss cheerfully shouts from behind the counter.

"Oh! Good morning, Mr. Komori!" I say jokingly.

"Setsuna... What did I say? Don't call me by my last name, it makes me feel old. I've known you forever. We go to the same school Just call me by my first name. We're friends, right? " Says Kou, slightly flush, as he puts his hand behind his head.

"I only call you that because we're friends. If you insist though. Alright... Good morning, Kou." I respond with a laugh. He nods.

"Let's get to work." He says, holding his hand out for a high five. I shyly reach out and accept. Kou smiles. "Okay. If you don't mind, could you help that table out right there." My eyes look to where he's pointing at. It's a round table with 4 older men sitting at the table. Gross! The Otaku's. I hate these customers. They're always too touchy feely. Super awkward and overall strange. Of course. I only thought that to myself. I shot a smile right back at Kou.

"Of course! I'll get right to it." I grab 4 menus and make my way to the table. "Hello and welcome to the Komori Kat Kafe. Meow. Hope you're having a super fun day. Meow!" Just kill me now... The fact that they're loving it makes it so much worse. "Anything you'd like to eat today? Meow." They exchange menacing smiles and the man closest to me reaches up my skirt. I shriek. "Kou!" He hops over the counter and, like a cat, jumps up onto the table.

"Sirs. You are our guests and we would love to treat you with the utmost respect. If you cannot however," Kou stops and reaches for the man's hand. Tightening his grip on it and removing it from under my skirt. "Treat my employees with respect. I'm afraid I will have to remove you from this cafe permanently. Do I make myself clear?" Kou says all this with a smile, making it all the more scary for the four otakus. The men shudder at his words and quickly make their way out of the cafe.

"I'm sorry Setsuna. I know this kind of thing is happening more and more." Kou says with a sigh.

"Hey, don't act like it's your fault." I say. I take up the menus and put them back. Kou walks back into the counter in a huff. I lean over the counter to speak with him. "These things just happen sometimes. It's not your fault I'm so damn attractive." I say, attempting to lighten the mood.

"It's just... When I inherited this cafe from my grandfather I wanted it to be a safe place where people could sit down, drink coffee, and be at peace. That can't happen when all my female employees are being harassed." He trails off and stares at the wall.

"Don't get so down about it. I'm not even as upset as you are. By the way. Where is Izuna?" I ask. The bell on the door rings, signifying its opening.

"Here! I'm here..." Izuna pants, out of breath. She flips up and her short baby blue hair flips with her. "I know I'm late... I overslept." Kou and I both roll our eyes and laugh a bit.

"Come on guys," Kou begins. "Let's get back to work."

"What a day!"
I flop down onto my bed.
"Well... Let's at least see what's on."
I reach down to grab the remote with one hand, with the other, I take out one of my pigtail holders out. 
Then, taking out the other and turning on the TV. The news is already on.
The reporter begins to speak.

"Today, I'm at the Sakamaki mansion. Where there were said to be strange figures seen leaving, and entering the property. We have asked many witnesses, as well as mansion staff, but no more has been said about these mysterious entries. We'll get back to you with more."

"Hmm. That's interesting... Oh no! I wonder if they are breaking into houses. That's not too far away from here... No... I'll be fine. What would they want with my crappy apartment anyway?"
I reassure myself, then change and head to bed.

"Good morning Kou! Um... Kou?"

Is he not here?
No, of course he's here, the door was unlocked... But there are no customers and no one at the counter.

"Oh hey."
I hear from behind me.

"AH!"
I let out a yelp.

"Ow! That hurt. It's just me... I didn't mean to scare you."

Oh, it's just Kou.

"I'm so sorry. I thought something was wrong."
I timidly reply.

"Oh no, noth-"
Just as Kou was about to reassure me, he gets cut off by a customer.

The customer is wearing nice clothing, and has his blond hair jelled back. He looks about the same age as Kou and I.
I'm 16, and Kou is 17. I think, so maybe he's about that same age.
And he's really good looking too.
He begins to speak.

"Is there a Setsuna Miyazaki here?"
