Part.11 The Generals Prepare

The doorknob twists and to my surprise it's... Arina and Yukiko.
"Master! We found some adorable outfits in a closet."
Arina says.
"We tried them on! Wanna see? Here hold this."
Arina walks over to me.

"Meow."
Arina meows.
"Ooh! Master, look at me!"
Yukiko says, waving me down.

She walks towards Kou.
"Oni-chan!"

"Kou!"
I shout, watching Kou fall to the ground.
"Hehe! He's too easy."
Yukiko chuckles.
"We have a lot more!"
Arina happily informs me.
"Uh... later. 'Kay?"
I respond.
"Yes, master!"
They obediently reply.
I sigh.
Kou twitches on the ground.
I sigh again.

I'm taking a walk outside in the garden.
It's evening now.
Kou came back to his senses eventually.
I walk up to a hill and sit.

It's been awfully peaceful since the attacks...
I hope it stays like this.

I lay down and stare up at the sky.
I see a bird high up.

It's getting awfully close.
Wait... is that... really a bird?

"Wait it's... Guardian?"
Guardian lands next to me.
He pulls me close into a loving embrace.

"It's been too long, my little goddess."
He says in his deep voice.
"G-Guardian?"
I ask.
He pulls away and looks me in the face.
"Yes? It's me. I said I wouldn't give up easily."

Guardian saying that reminds me of what Kou said to me.

"I'm not giving up! You said you're falling for him, correct? Then I'll take that as you haven't yet confirmed those feelings." I remember Kou saying.
I think back on the moment.
I then realize that Guardian is waving his hand in front of my face.
"Hello."
"Oh, uh, yes! S-sorry. What were you saying?"
I blurt out.
"You blanked out. Am I really that boring to be with?"
"No! It's not that! I... was just thinking about someone else. That's all."
I say.
"Hmm... so is that why you declined me last time? You feel for another?"
Guardian says looking disappointed and angry both at once.

He really doesn't know when to give up does he?
I'm so fed up with this!

"No! It's because you almost killed my friend! Attacked all of my other friends! You even tried to make me Fallen!"
I snap at Guardian.
In doing so, a bright light comes from my hand and towards Guardian.
The impact from the strange force sends him flying.
Acting only on instinct, I run and I don't look back.

I shout to the first person I see.
"Arina!"
"Oh, master! Hello, master."
She welcomes me back.
"Help!"
I scream.
Running back, I had picked up some Fallen forces.
With the small group of Fallen following me, Arina calls Yukiko out.
I run behind them.
They both ready themselves for a head on attack.
The first Fallen approaches, Arina takes him out no problem.
The second comes.
Yukiko uses a spell that disintegrates him.

Whoa!
They can do all that?
I'm supposed to be more powerful then both of them?
I can't just cower in fear.

I stand up straight and prepare to take one of them on.
All of the sudden, it's as if I know what to do.

"Ruț Kün!"
I shout.
Steel spears appear, they hover in mid air.
They then impale the next three Fallen that come into sight.
Arina and Yukiko both look at me in surprise.
"Whoa!"
I say, looking down at my hands.

How... did I know to do that?

I can hardly believe myself.
"Setsuna!"
Kou yells.
Haruki and Kou are running towards me.
Then they both stop and stare when they're about a foot away from me.
"..."
Kou and Haruki stare silently at me.
"Yeah... I did that. 'Cause I bet you're probably wondering. Hehe!"
I begin laughing after my comment.
Haruki yells out to me.
"Watch out!"
Again, my body reacts before my brain can even think.
"Kíüj!"
I shout another incantation.
I block the Fallen's blow with my arm.
My arm takes no damage, thanks to the chant I was shielded.
"Wow!"
Kou shouts.
"Kou, you may not have magic but you're not useless! Don't ever forget that!"
I yell at him.
"Glad to hear you say that!"
Kou tells me.
He then runs over to the Fallen I was blocking and delivers a deadly kick to his head.
"See!"
I smile saying this to him.
"You're right! I can still be a badass!"
We exchange smiles.
"We have to get rid of them!"
Haruki yells to the generals.
"I have a plan! Yukiko I need you to do something."
Arina says.
"Alright, got it! Cover us!"
Yukiko shouts.
They kneel down in front of me and begin some sort of incantation.

What's this surge of power?

Before I know what's happening, the same smoke from before appears in front of me once again.
They begin fighting against the Fallen.

It's a smaller amount then last time.
I hope this works!

One by one the Fallen perish.
I find myself growing weaker and weaker.

No, I won't black out!
I have to be strong!
For everyone I have to do this!

I stand up straight and the amount of smokey figures increases.
"There we go!"
Arina shouts.
The last of the Fallen have been disposed of.
I breathe out and the smoke figures disappear.
"It was the... same things as... before."
I state.
"Yes. The demon and angel spirits."
Yukiko explains.
Arina reassures me.
"Don't worry when you learn more magic, it will get easier."
"Speaking of, how did you know those spells from before?"
Haruki asks.
"I... don't know. I just felt like I knew them and should use them."
I answer.

We begin walking towards the door.
"Is that Hiroto?"
Kou asks.
I look up and see Hiroto standing in the doorway.
