Part.21 Not Safe Anywhere

"Jeez, Setsuna. No need to yell."
Haruki said with a sigh.
"How did you even get yourselves enrolled?"
I ask, looking at all of them.
Arina begins.
"Well, Haruki used a persuading spell..."
She says looking down and messing with her hands.
I snap my gaze back to him.
As I do, I'm greeted with the back of his head.

He turned away!?
Why that!

I slam my hand down onto his shoulder.
He slowly looks up at me with a straight face.
None of the other students have left.
They're probably interested in seeing what's happening between us.
"So?"
I say leaning down to his ear.
He blinks.
"So...?"
"Haruki," My voice takes on a dangerous tone. "I would choose my next words very carefully if I were you. Not only did you not tell me you were gonna be here, but you also used magic to do it."
I say, sighing.
I try and calm myself down.
"Listen,"
He says, standing up and grabbing my chin.
I'm now looking up at him.
The entire room of students gasp.

No...
You're not falling for his intense gaze.
Nope.
No.
...
...
Mmm...

I stare at him.
"W-What?"
I ask.
I feel my face grow hot.

Damn!
I'm too easy.

"I came because I couldn't bare the thought of not being with you."
He says pulling me into a passionate loving embrace.

Hold on!
He's doing this for show!

I stand there with no intent of moving.
Though he infuriated me, I do love him.
Even if he's being a jerk right now.
I sigh and hug him too.
The student begin oohing and awing.
I roll my eyes.

Not too much time passes and it's lunch.
I hear the bell ring signifying that lunch period has begun.
Students begin to grab their bags to head to the lunchroom.
I grab mine as well.
I didn't have this period with any of "them" so I head to the door without stopping.
I turn the corner and head for the lunchroom.
Walking at a steady pace, I look ahead.

Well at least it's close...

I turn to enter the lunchroom.
My nose is filled with the smell of freshly prepared food.
I look around trying to find the group.
I spot Kou, Hiroto, Arina, And Yukiko.

Hmm?
Where's Haruki?

I search some more and find him.
He's at a table full of... Girls.
I scowl and roll my eyes.

What's with him!?

I feel my anger bubbling up.
I can feel the jealousy.
I stomp over to the table.
Once I've reached the table, I put on the happiest face I've ever faked.
Sitting next to him, I look at him smiling.
"Sooooooo. Haruki? Why are you not sitting with the others?"
I ask.
He looks at me trying, to shield his face from the girls sitting at the table.
He begins to whisper.
"When I got my food I came here to save the table... But then they kind of just all came and sat down. I don't know what to do. Help."
He says, whimpering.

Really?
They're just a group of girls.
He can't just tell them to move?

"Ahem! Excuse me. Would you girls please move?"
I say.
They look at me then back at him.
One of the girls begins to speak.
"Why? So you can have him all to yourself? Not likely."

Little does she know I already do.

Thinking that thought gives me a little more confidence.
Just as I'm about to say something, Haruki uncovers his face.
Flashing them a smile he asks them to leave.
They all look extremely surprised but agree with little resistance.
I sit back down and sigh deeply.
He then pats me on the head and faintly laughs.
The rest of the gang comes and sits down and begin to eat their food.
"Oh! That's right! I didn't even get any. I'll be back."
I say.
They nod and continue with their meals.
I get up from the table and head to the line to grab some food.
As I grab a pair of chopsticks, I get a bowl of rice and continue down the line.
I set down my rice and reach to grab something.
Failing to grab it, I take a step backwards.
I feel someone right up against me.
Stepping on their foot, we tumble.

Oh no!

I look down and see my legs on top of longer legs with black pants.
"Ouch!"
I grunt.
There's a firm grip on my wrists.
I turn around to see a guy with black hair.

Oh, I know him.
He's gone to our school forever.

Wait, no. It's-
