Dick started feelings things after he moved to the Watchtower. This was new to him because as a member of TCOW, the only emotion you get is obedience. He would get this feeling whenever Diana came and gave him a stuffed animal even though he is almost fourteen. Or when Hal gave him hugs even though he never asked for one. He always wanted to say Thank You, but he can't.
