Khaos
“Where is she?” Parang tangang inikutan ni Gerard ang punong sinasandalan ko. Umaakto pa 'tong may hinahanap.
Patawa-tawa naman ang iba pang miyembro ng se7en habang pinapanood ang kalokohan niya.
“Sa'n mo siya itinago?” Nang-aasar nitong itinaas ang bag ko na para bang may mapagtataguan sa ilalim n'yon.
Itiniklop ko ang hawak na libro saka itinuktok sa ulo niya. He laughingly scratched the part of his head where the spine hammered as I was opening the book again to go back reading.
“So, where is she, K?” nakakairitang ulit ni Gerard sa tanong kanina. “It's been, what—” Nagbilang siya gamit ang daliri. “Five days... five days that I haven't seen Adelaida.”
“Don't bug me, I'm reading.”
“Sumagot ka kasi,” nakangising pamimilit pa rin nito.
“She's busy with someone!” singhal ko dahil sa kakulitan niya.
“Someone?” he asked surprised.
“She already got tired of you, and dumped you for another guy,” singit ni Gerardine na 'di ko nagustuhan. “I'm sure that's what happened.”
“We're not in any relationship, she can do whatever she wants!” Sinubukan kong kalmahin ang sarili at ituloy na lang ang pagbabasa.
“Your defensive reaction confirms that what my sister said is true.”
“Babae lang 'yan,” Zach joined in, laughing.
“Kayang-kaya mong palitan agad 'yon, Khaos.” Tinapik pa 'ko ni Jiro sa balikat.
“You should have chosen me instead of that maid!”
Sumipol si Gerard sa narinig. “Another bold statement coming from my dear sister.”
Their reactions are annoying.
Bitbit sa isang balikat ang bag ko, malakas kong isinara ang librong hawak saka tumayo. “You guys are so fucking loud!” I madrle steps without looking back.
Dumiretso ako sa library para palisin ang iritasyon. I went to an aisle and searched the shelves for anything that can dampen the agitation I feel. Pinilit kong libangin ang utak pero hindi ko nagawa. Pumapasok pa rin sa isip ko ang mga sinabi nila. I shouldn't be affected by mere words, but it's infuriating that I am. Their uncalled-for comments are getting to me.
