Is there ANY reason this exists? Other than the fact that Rick thinks that the only thing that can make you happy is a love interest and how he makes EVERYONE get paired up for no damn reason? Mellie is barely even a character. Hedge is only treated with (some) respect in Blood of Olympus.
I don't know why do couple that have no reason to exist piss me off so much, but they just do, especially when there are much better couples that deserve to be canon over it. The only reason I don't really dislike this is because it barely exists.
