Ever have that one ship that's objectively fine but you can never get into it, because you think it's just too boring? Yeah, that's Jasabeth for me. Usually I'm more prone to shipping Jason with characters who have stronger personalities than him, and Annabeth applies on that, but this ship still...doesn't appeal to me much?

Maybe it's the lack of positive interaction. Half of the time Jason and Annabeth seem mostly at odds with each other. Jason and Annabeth have helped each other, sure, but they never seemed to form too close of a bond. The mere time Annabeth was "attracted" to him was being turned off by how perfect he is. Something like that just kills chemistry. I guess Jasabeth shippers are just shippers who think Percy and Annabeth should have more in common, but characters who have so much in common can only be shipped in certain situations for the ship to be fun and full of passion. The times where I, for example, ship couples of two people who have too much in common, are usually because of these details:

-They BOTH have very strong personalities and what makes them similar are their stronger aspects. This makes the dynamic be very enjoyable.

-What they have in common is something that they would both want a potential lover to have.

Or

-They can relate to each other on something deep that nobody else could understand, or that nobody else understands.

Jasabeth really has none of these. What they have in common is mostly smarts and having the most maturity and composure of the group, aka. the parts about Annabeth that focus the least on her strong personality. They clearly don't need someone too alike to them, especially Annabeth, given how she fell for Percy. And there's nothing really meaningful between them that they can bond for. And since there's nothing to work with, the ship cannot interest me.

I think the only thing I like about this ship is both being strategic, and the difference of patient and impatient with Jason and Annabeth, but idk, I think that's about it. Annabeth can definitely use someone who knows how to calm her down, but every Annabeth ship I like can apply on them, so I still don't see much of a point on this ship. This ship is harmless, and I will fight any toxic Percabeth shipper bringing any Jasabeth shipper down, but I just think this ship is...pretty dull.
