I could've sworn I've seen this ship around Tumblr, but for some reason I wasn't able to find anything for it?? No fanart and barely any text posts?? Why did this ship disappear off the edge of the Earth???
I actually do know about this ship because, when I was hyper fixated on PJO, I was sorta into it. This was, like Pipalypso and Pipachel, a ship I considered and I liked before I just...stopped being into it. Maybe it's just one of those ships that got lost when I got invested in other things. Or maybe I just don't really get why I was into it.
I think what I liked about Nico and Frank was that it's a ship between two underdogs, that started from the bottom, so I thought that a connection between the two, a romantic connection, was possible. They are also canon geeks over Mythomagic, which could very easily help them bond, because it seems like only they care about the game. I guess I just really liked the idea that the ship would be very fluffy and very sweet. Now I realize that this ship has the exact same problem as Jasico to me; I just do not see ROMANTIC chemistry between Nico and Frank. Now Nico and Frank ring to me as just really good friends. I love that Frank and Nico were always able to get along and all, but with a character as complex as Nico, I think he should have a more interesting relationship than what Nico x Frank has to offer.
Despite the Jasico comparison though, I actually think Nico x Frank is better, mostly since they actually do have more stuff in common (insecurities being linked to their powers, underdogs, more similar attitudes and interests). Like I've mentioned before, I prefer Nico being with someone who relates to him. And you know, I feel more comfortable with this ship because it's existence doesn't demean the importance of my OTP in this fandom. But I still can't get into it. I am totally BROTPing Frank and Nico, but I won't be doing much else.
