I'm surprised at how little I found of this ship. Like, really, Valdangelo is a ship that's easy to find, but Perleo isn't? They have pretty much have the same appeal of shipping the Boy Favorites. And honestly, I prefer this ship more.
I wouldn't say I ship Perleo, since it doesn't really grab me, but there's a lot of good stuff in it. The fire/water juxtaposition (which is a wonderful reminder of Zutara and YEEES I SHIP ZUTARA), the fact that Percy and Leo both have a sense of humor, and even the close relationships with their mothers, and understanding what it's like to lose them. I'm surprised Rick didn't make them interact more; he clearly likes both characters, so why didn't they have more one-on-one interaction?
There's definitely plenty of appeal for this ship, but it doesn't really grab me, because I do think that their chemistry is lacking in the books. I bet if Perleo had as many moments as Jercy moments, they'd be A LOT more popular. And it'd be easier to see a genuinely romantic chemistry rather than one that's mostly platonic. Perleo is pretty good, but it's just nothing impressive.
