Braxton pulls up to his house and waits for me to get out of the car. I had been to this house hundreds of times, but never had I been as nervous as I was now.

"Are we going to get out of the car? Or are we going to keep him waiting?" Braxton asks, squeezing my hand to grab my attention. I turn to face his dark brown eyes with a small but nervous smile.

"What if he doesn't like me?" I ask. I lean my head against the seat as the nerves start to take over again.

"I promise, he is going to love you," he assures me.

"How can you be so sure?" I ask, not fully convinced.

"He has to have good taste if he is my son," He smiles and finally lets out a small laugh. I reluctantly smile back at him. He brings my hand to his lips and kisses it softly. "Now can we please go inside?" He begs. I take one last deep breath before nodding my head. My feet step onto the pavement and Braxton meets me outside of the car to grab my hand. He leads me to the front door and slowly opens it.

"Landon... Where are you?" Braxton coos for his son. The toddler comes running from the hallway area. He was cute in pictures but he was adorable in person. He looked just like Braxton but with chunkier cheeks. Braxton leans down to his son's height and scoops him up into his arms. "I have a very special friend that I want you to meet," Braxton says as Landon eyes me.

"Hi Landon! I'm Emma!" I hold my hand out for him to shake and he slowly does. "I brought you a present," I say gesturing the large bag towards him. "Your daddy tells me that you like to play football like him," I finish as he takes the present from my hand. He looks to Braxton before ripping the paper out of the bag. He pulls out the football and jersey with his name on the back and the helmet. His jaw drops.

"Thank you!" Landon leaves his dad's lap and hugs my legs.

"You're welcome!" I crouch down to pick him up. "Do you mind if I play with you today?"

"Let's play football!" he says excitedly. I put his new jersey on him and help him snap on his helmet. His small hand wraps around my finger and leads me to the backyard. Braxton follows slower behind us laughing at his son's excitement.

"Okay Landon, how about you and I are on a team and daddy is on his own team?" I say. Landon nods excitedly as we join in a huddle.

"Hut. Hut. Hike!" I say as Landon takes off running down the fake field. Braxton is immediately in my face ready to tackle me. I throw the ball and Landon catches it and continues running. Braxton pretend tackles me and wraps his arm around my waist and spins me around as Landon finally makes it to the end zone.

"You're doing pretty good rookie," Braxton laughs.

"I know," I wink at him as I go to celebrate with Landon. He is dancing in the end zone and I happily join him. Braxton jogs down to us.

"Okay, you two dancing machines. As much fun as this was, I think it is time to call it a game and go to bed," Braxton crosses his arms. Landon looks at me with wide eyes.

"Did we win?" he asks.

"Yes we did!" I say and he immediately tackles me with a hug. Braxton smiles as he picks his son up. He pulls me up too and wraps an arm around me as we go back inside for the night.

"Okay, Landon you go upstairs and pick out some pajamas and then you can snuggle with us down here until you fall asleep," Braxton instructs as Landon races up the stairs.

"You're a good dad," I admire when he finishes giving his instructions.

"Thank you, Emma. That means a lot to me. Everything I do, is for him," Braxton says pulling me closer.

"He's a good kid," I say as I lean my forehead against his.

"He likes you... a lot," Braxton smiles before finally kissing my lips.

"I'm ready," Landon says. He is fully dressed in his Texans pajamas and drags down a pillow and blanket behind him.

"Come on Landon. Let's watch our show!" I say as he follows me to the couch. I lay down on the large couch and Braxton lays next to me, as Landon squeezes between us. Each of us puts our arm around the toddler.

Braxton plays with the remote trying to find a good show as Landon finds my other hand and holds it.

"Looks like I may have a little competition for you now," Braxton laughs once he sees Landon holding my hand.

Landon looks up to me with his dark eyes. "Are you going to be my mommy?" My jaw nearly drops.

"Do you want her to be your mommy?" Braxton asks. Landon nods excitedly. "She will be your mommy if we are lucky enough to keep her," he answers. I smile at him. "Goodnight son. I love you," Braxton kisses his forehead.

"Goodnight Daddy, I love you too."

"Thanks for letting me play with you today buddy. Goodnight Landon," I say as he leans his head against my chest.

"Goodnight Emma."

Within a matter of minutes the boy is sleeping and Braxton looks at me with glee. "You are really good with kids."

"Thank you. Thanks for letting me be a part of your lives," I smile as he stands up to kiss me. He takes the boy into his arms and carries him back up the steps to his room as I imagine what our life could be like one day....
