Though you think you already know
I remember I thought you looked like an angel

No one told me how long of a flight from Boston to San Francisco was. The ride was bumpy, and difficult for sleeping. But somehow my fiancé managed to do just that. His head lay comfortably on my shoulder as I flipped through pages of wedding magazines I brought along. Although sleeping, Julian kept a firm grip on my leg to make sure I didn't go anywhere.

"Attention passengers, please prepare for landing as we will be hitting the runway in approximately 5 minutes" the pilot announced over the PA system.

I softly nudged Julian to wake him. "Jules, we're almost there," I said quietly as he groggily came to. He yawned as he stretched, trying to move his resting body.

"How long was I asleep for?" He asked.

"Since we left Boston," I told him.

"I'm sorry Alizée," he apologized. "But you were a very comfortable pillow," he said leaning in to kiss me.

The flight landed and we now awaited our next flight from San Francisco to Honolulu. Julian fidgeted with his phone nervously, as we found a spot to sit for the two hour long wait.

"You okay?" I asked him, touching his hand to calm him down.

"I have to tell you something..." he stuttered out.

"What is it?" I asked nervously as the mood turned serious. "Is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine but you see... I had this idea, I kind of thought it was great... but the closer we get to it, the more I'm kind of regretting springing this on you..." Julian nervously spat out.

"Come on, just tell me!"

Julian's sheepish eye met mine, as a sideways smirk appeared on his lips. "My mom is on her way right now."

"Your mom is coming with us?" I tilted my head confused.

"No, no. She is bringing Lily with her.." Julian said. My face brightened. It wasn't that I didn't love Julian's mom, I had never met his daughter before. He was protective of her. And with being on the complete other side of the United States, it was hard for even him to get quality time with her. I sat stunned. "Are you mad?" he asked nervously.

"What?! No! Of course not! I'm so excited to meet the little angel!" I wrapped my hands around Julian, thankful that I was finally going to meet the other woman in his life.

I had seen nearly a million pictures of sweet Lily and the anticipation of finally getting to meet her was too much to bear.

Luckily, Julian's mom came into view. She was pushing a stroller, with a diaper bag wrapped around her petite body. I nudged Julian's leg, drawing his attention to his mother. "Mom! Thank you so much for bringing her," Julian hugged his mom before turning to the child inside of the baby stroller.

"Angie, so nice to see you again. I hope this wasn't to much trouble for you," I graciously thank her and pull her in for a polite hug.

"Not a problem!" she assures us. Julian bends down to unbuckle his daughter from the carseat and bring her to my view for the first time. She was so tiny, but adorably dressed. Her bright blue eyes were mystifying against her pale complexion and blinding blonde hair. I let out a gasp at the sight of my future step-daughter.

"Alizée, I would like you to meet Lily," Julian turned the infant towards me. I reached out for her little hand and she gladly wrapped her fingers around mine.

"Hi, Lily! I'm so happy to finally meet you. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life getting to know you," I kissed her fingers and a small smile spread across her little lips.

"Passengers, please begin boarding flight 311 to Honolulu," a voice came over the intercom. Julian turned to hug his mother.

"Mom, thanks for bringing her," Julian kissed his mother on the forehead. I gave Angie another hug and we headed towards the gate.

Once we boarded the plane and had everything all situated for the ride, Julian let out a deep sigh. He shifted his gaze between me and Lily, who sat quietly in his arms. "Why are you sighing?"

"I'm just really happy," he smiled. He pecked me on the lips and I lay my head on his shoulder. Lily reached her arms out for me and tiny tears welled in my eyes. I picked her up from Julian's lap and rested her on mine. This was my future. Julian, Lily, and I.

After landing in Honolulu, Lily and I were graced with lei's. It was dark when we arrived at the hotel, and the jet lag from sitting on the plane from Boston to Hawaii, caused us to head to bead early.

Laying in a lounge chair on one of the many beaches in Hawaii, I looked towards the sun in hopes of catching a tan while on the islands. "Lily, say good morning to Alizée," Julian said coming to sit in the chair next to me.

"Come here, baby girl."

She had on a tiny little pink bikini and wore a white bonnet to protect her baby blue eyes from the sun. "Look at you, my little beach babe, in her tiny pink bikini. Gosh, you are so stinking cute." I baby talked to her. She grabbed at the lei around my neck and I picked one of the flowers from it and gently placed it in her hand.

"Jules, doesn't she look so pretty with flowers in her hand?" I asked him.

"Yes she does!" Julian smiled.

"How do you feel about her being our flower girl for the wedding? Our wedding day is a celebration of love, and not just my love for you but also for her. It is a combining of families. I want her to play a special part in our day. It's her day too." I asked.

"I think I just fell more in love with you if that was even possible," Julian stood up from the chair to kiss me. "Seeing you love her is one of the most beautiful things in the world."

"She's not just your princess anymore, she has me wrapped around her tiny little finger."

"I can't wait to make you my wife, Alizée. To become a complete family. To have our forever."
