I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock beeping in my ear, I snooze the button and get out of bed and get dressed as I head downstairs I see mom and dad flirting like usual "Child in the room!" I announced and they laughed "When you get a girlfriend, you'll be just like us" dad says as he ruffles my hair

"Come on dad..I just brushed it" he grabs his keys and kisses mom a bunch of times and leaves "You guys are so in love..why don't you have another baby?" She gave me a death glare and I was a little afraid "Are you nuts? I'm fine with two kids if I have another? I don't know" I chuckled

"If you have another I'll be dead, I already have a little sister that I adore and love, don't need another sibling" she laughs and sits by me "What's with the new attitude?" Mom shot back "I guess I'm still on edge about Jane, I don't like seeing her with the wrong crowd" mom sighs "Well..it's who she is, maybe she's having tough time at her home and she acts like this or she just wants this as her lifestyle"

I couldn't really think Jane would be this kind of person? She was so sweet and innocent when we were younger but since we're older she's chosen a different route "Well I'm heading to school, later mom" I kiss her cheek and she pulls my bag "You don't want me to drop you off?" I shake my head and move away "Nope, I'll ride my bike"

she smiles "Alright be careful" I nod and take off, I look at everything I passed and I noticed Jane with the bad kids again, I stop and look at her and she looked at me worried and confused, she ignored me and I sigh and kept going as I reached school I saw Vanessa "Hey Comet, rode your bike to school today?" I chuckle and nod "Yeah, didn't want my mom to bring me, she's kinda tired" she giggles and plays with her hands

"So, I wanted to invite you to a party I'm throwing, I would love it if you came" I was surprised I even got invited "I would love to go, thanks for the invite ness" she blushed at the nickname I just said "No problem, cool nickname for me later" she waves and I lock my bike up as I move up I'm face to face with Jane "Can we talk" I sigh and she pulls my arm and we go to the side of the school

"Alright you brought me to your spot, what do you want?" She looked surprised at my attitude "Don't get smart with me Diaz, I will rip your head off" I scoff and cross my arms "Then tell me already, and I see your new friends are waiting for you" she groans "Comet! I need help..please" I gave her a weird look "Help with what?" She clenches her hands and tries to look at me

"I need..to..get invited to Vanessa's party and prank her.." I roll my eyes "Jane what's the matter with you? You were never like this..where's my best friend Jane that used to hang with me after school every day?" She grunts and screams "Forget it! I'll get in myself!" She pushes me and leaves with her new friends and I shake my head, what happened to her?

As the day went on Jane avoided me at all costs, if even look at her she looked the other way and even try to speak she will just keep walking away, I kept looking at the chain she made me, what happened to my best friend that always makes me things for no reason or even draw a cool design?

As I was unlocking my bike I was stopped by Jane, I looked at her and she looked at me, it felt like time around us froze and we were in staring competition "I'm sorry" was all she said and gave me a hug and left with her mom, I really need to know what's happening at her house..as wait for her to be gone I head to her house as I knocked on her door her mom answered "Hello comet, Jane is upstairs"

"Thank you" I walk up the stairs and open her door where I see her laying on her bed looking on her phone "Can you actually talk more then just an 'I'm sorry' like Jane I have so many questions like why are you with Alex's crew why are trying to prank the girl I have a crush on? Answer me please" she put down her phone and looked at me with her death glare

"Listen, I never asked to be this way, broken and useless, I never meant to have anger issues or be the way I am" she comes closer to me inches away from my face and I blush a bit "Diaz, I can do whatever I want because that's who I am, I don't wear dresses or wear bright makeup I wear black just like my soul..I can't have friends because they leave too quickly"

I sigh "But I haven't left, you keep pushing me away when you don't need to, Jane I care about you and o don't care if you don't dress up and stuff I like you for you and plus I like having karaoke nights in my room with you" she giggles and opens her arms "Come here" I walk into her arms and hug her "Your weird Diaz you know that right?" I chuckle and break away "Oh yeah, but you love me that way" I say winking at her and she pushed me a bit "Oh shut up"

we laugh a bit and I forgot about the party "Oh I totally forgot about Vanessa's party, you can still come but no pranks" I held out my hand to make a deal "Fine I'll be good, and I should let you know, I'm actually kinda seeing Alex" she said awkwardly "Cool, now you have someone to be with, let's hope Vanessa likes me too" she smiles a bit "Yeah.."

As we head to the party, it was filled with people and music was blasting and people overall having a good time, I lied to my parents saying I'm staying over Jane's house for a movie..if my mom or dad found out I'll be grounded for years to come

"Comet! You made it!" Vanessa jumped into my arms and hugged me and she smelled like strawberries and lime "Yeah, are you feeling alright?" She started giggling "You might not know this but...there's something special in the punch bowl" she laughs and walks away

"She's totally hammered, well comet let's go before we get into trouble with the law..I don't think a person with your last name should be on the news 'Son of the Exchange program arrested for underage drinking' what would your parents say?" Jane was right my dad could get publicly shame for my actions "Let's see and then head out okay?"

Jane rolled her eyes "Fine, but if I get grounded I blame you" "Fair enough" we walked into the house where it smelled like weed and other substances and we found the bowl where everyone was taking a cup

"Okay, let's go comet please I don't want you to get in trouble" Jane kept pulling my arm and I tried getting away "Why are you such in a hurry?" As I was going to say more the police came and everyone started to run out and Jane pulled my arm and we ran as fast as we could and then we were stopped by an officer "Busted" "I told you" I shake my head and sigh, my parents are going to kill me..

"Are you freaking kidding me! Comet underage drinking and smoking?! I thought we raised you better!" My dad said screaming at me in the station "Dad I wasn't doing any of that I swear i didn't even touch anything, I just walked around I swear" he had his arms crossed and shake his head in disappointment "Comet, why would you lie to me and your mother, you could've gotten hurt, what would happen if something bad did happen?" I stay silent and looked at the tiles "I don't know..I'm sorry" he sits next to me and pulls me into a hug

"It's okay, and your grounded for a month" I nod and I knew that was coming "Yes sir" we get up and see Jane get reunited with her parents "Are you serious? At a party? You said movies!" Her father raised his voice at her and she had tears falling "I didn't do anything! I swear to you I don't do any of that! I'm not stupid" she yelled back and her father was raging and he left and her mother pulled her into a hug "I know..I know" they both cried and dad nodded to start walking, I waved at her and she nods..Never again I'm going to a party..
