Can't Say - Jung Hoseok

part nine - bad things

the sidewalk you all were standing on didn't feel heavy but the atmosphere above it did.

looking confusedly at the scene infront of you there were many things you could make out: a neutral faced jung hoseok, a worried jeon jungkook, and the white elephant in the room, a definitely upset looking park jimin.

jungkook couldn't help but bite his lip, although he was strong and could handle his own battles, he feared that you walking in on their argument could've dragged you and taehyung into something he never intended.

jimin's eyes were locked with yours, never looking away. sure, a little part of him was scared, but he was more focused on hoseok than he was jungkook, you, or taehyung.

something about hoseok just makes his blood boil.

hoseok however didn't even look at you, he looked towards the ground, trying to think of ways to make the situation not what it seemed.

"ah," hoseok laughed breathlessly, "(your name), we should get going to school!"

"what?" your brows furrowed, "no, you guys don't look okay-"

"(your name), it's really nothing!" jungkook put on a false smile and nodded next to hoseok.

"no, clearly it's something." you crossed your arms as your finger was tapping your elbow. your eyes went over to jimin, "jimin?"

jimin of course was quiet for a bit, making the atmosphere even more tense than it was. he noticed how nervous hoseok and jungkook were so he just smirked.

"it's nothing." jimin sighed as his hands went through his fields of hair on the top of his head. he walked towards you and wrapped his arm around you.

"wah-"

"it's nothing. let's get to class, kay?" jimin smiled.

your heart couldn't help but beat fast as he was staring you down with those beautiful soulful eyes of his. that and since he smiled, his lips looked even bigger and more pink and plush.

a blush rose to your face but your expression was still confused. "are you sure?"

you looked back at the three boys surrounding you and your crush.

"yeah, it's fine." jungkook smiled, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

hoseok simply nodded and gave you a cheeky grin.

although you were unsure, and saw that taehyung was also disagreeing with the vibes going on with the boys, you just decided to go along with it.

your head turned as it faced jimin, he was looking down at you since you were shorter compared to him. he gave you a worrisome smile, his cheeks looking bigger and softer.

"let's go?" he asked.

"y-yeah."

as you and jimin walked forward with taehyung tagging along by the both of you, jungkook and hoseok did follow along but something felt off.

well, off to hoseok atleast.

he didn't know why, but he really didn't like jimin's arm around you. it set him off, he felt as if he had to contain his normally happy self and him bursting his emotions out wasn't needed.

but in hoseok's mind, if he ever broke from his character, he would fear that it would cause some difficult outcomes. he didn't want you to have more weight on your shoulders.
