"YOU CAN DROP me off here," Camila tells Jeremy. It's just a few blocks away from the music store and she needs to find a Liszt song to perform at a gala.

"That's near Laurent's. I'll just drop you two off then," Jeremy says, making eye contact with Camila through the rearview mirror.

She gets off first and waits for him. Elle rolls down the window and mouths call me and winks at her. She's obviously happy and her handholding with Roma didn't slip past Camila's eyes. As of the moment, though, Camila has a hard time shaking the heady scent of Laurent's cologne.

"So, who are your favorite composers?" Laurent asks as they fall into step.

"Definitely Chopin. Then Debussy," she says.

"My dad likes, uh," he says, "Bartok. That's the only one I know."

"I thought you'd know B—"

"Beethoven, Mozart, yeah I've heard of them. Not a big classical music fan."

"Laurent. There's classical, impressionist, romantic, baroque, modern, and so much more. Not just classical."

"Damn, I get it, calm down."

"You can't possibly ask me to calm down when you know how much I love music."

"You can't possibly think I know you enough by now to know how not to offend you."

"What?"

He says it so fast that she doesn't catch it but all he does is shake his head as they enter the store. Camila greets the shopkeeper and asks for the copies her teacher recommended her. Laurent flits around the shop as she pays.

"Do you need me to walk you back?" Camila asks over her shoulder.

"Mila, do you need me to walk you back?"

"I need a taxi to get back."

"Guess you'll need to go back alone then," he says.

They leave and walk down the street and the sun's hitting all the right places on Laurent's face and she doesn't know what comes of it but she stops in the middle of the sidewalk. Laurent turns around and before he can tell her to hurry up, she pulls the same wrist she did back at Milk so that the distance shortens between them.

She kisses him. There's still a hint of lime on his lips and Camila hopes her breath is okay. His mouth starts moving and pressing against her own, his hands breaking free of the hold she has on them so they can grab hers instead. They break apart, Laurent's breathing audible and with his hands still in his pockets.

"Mila..." he says finally, "love is for suckers."

A tiny, shocked gasp leaves her mouth. How could they have kissed just then?
