Chapter 10-Has Cupid visited?

Christians' group of friends seemed to be expanding -- there were his room mates Nathan, Leon and Pavo; also there was Harry, Jake, Casey and, of course Kirsty.

The first years seemed to have formed an attachment to each other really quickly and it was if they had known each other for years.

With the threat of bullying and other abusive behaviour out of the way, the students seemed to be blossoming by the hour. Christian didn't think he could ever remember a time when he felt so at ease with himself and his surroundings.

Kirsty and he hadn't barely left each others sides, apart from sleeping in separate rooms at night. They met for breakfast every morning and Christian no longer needed Pavos' wake-up calls any longer; he was far too keen to see his girlfriend!

Nathan too, was eager for breakfast ; he hadn't quite managed to ask Casey to be his girlfriend, but the entire group knew it was only a matter of time. They even read from the same book in the library when studying, despite there being several copies to choose from.

Christian gentle teased Nathan when they were in their dorm at night-- if he could get a girlfriend, there was no doubt that Nathan could too. Christian left it alone after that; he didn't want to be seen to be teasing him too much, even though it wasn't his intention.

Dorm 196 seemed to certainly have a theme of romance in the air- Leon had began to see a beautiful redheaded girl called Naomi, with sumptious curls cascading over her shoulders and a beautiful creamy complexion that drew attention to her wherever she went--a mean feat on Guardonia, given that they were all angelic. She had quite a spark to her and it was no surprise to anyone that she was to be a guardonia angelus--it would be very difficult to imagine anybody, especially male, refusing to accompany her to Guardonia. She was a second year like Leon, but was so talented in lessons, that it was becoming very likely that she would get her wings early.

Every February, on the 14th of course, there was a Valentines Ball in Guardonia. Everybody attended, even Magisters and recruiters-- for three or four hours, most of the angels were present, with the exception of a few emergencies on Earth and it was here that those who earnt their wings early were presented with them. It was six or so weeks ahead of them yet, but the students were beginning to get excited, especially the first years.

Lessons were settling into a steady routine, with every recruit having their favourite subject, although with all of the enrollment processes and inductions to each class, they had only had actual lessons in magic and combat, with Cancer house.

Magic remained to be Christian and Kirstys' fortè, as they were a superbly matched pair, who together could perform some of the more difficult magic, like floatation of an object and the ability to communicate telepathically, much to the surprise of the Magister and the envy of their fellow class-mates. Oddly enough, their magic was poor when they worked independently of each other, so the Magister kept them together, for now.

Nathan enjoyed learning hand-to-hand combat. This seemed an unusual lesson for angels to be taught, but their Magister had explained in their first lesson.

Lyros was a huge, muscular individual, but he had a soft and sympathetic face and was the most gentle angel in Guardonia, much to the amusement of the pupils and Magisters alike!

His confidence and stature combined overawed the first years, as he exuded such a positive, yet controlled vibe which seemed to pulsate around the room; almost hypnotically as the class all gazed upon him as if he were a God.

He began to speak; to explain to the class prior to training the simple rules that made up the entire being of everyones existance.

"What you all MUST remember is that there are always opposites in the world, like ying and yang for example. They make up two parts of a whole, yet are total opposites. You will find both good people and bad people on Earth and, as you are angels, you will find your opposite. For every angel that is recruited, a dark angel is also recruited. Each mission that you undertake has the potential to be dangerous, particularly for grounded angels, as your enemy will know where you are. These are known as 'Stalkers', who may follow your every move and try to snatch you or ruin your good work.
