Diary entry.
About the horses.
Tazer. He is 5 years old and his bred unknown. He is a stallion, and depending on how his training goes will determine if this 5 year old will be kept as is or will be gelded. The odds are up to him. I will have chosen this after 4 minths of him being here.
His temperament. He is kind at soul...but he definatly had some bad habits! Such as his biting at everything habit.
He sees a fence and ghe next thing he does is bite it. That goes for everything else!
His owner said he was a pain with lunging soo I tested it myself.
Definatly a trouble maker but not a pain. He was manageable. I even got him to calmy walk trot and canter on both sides. Which was a huge improvement from when I started working with him.
He isnt made for riding yet..
Who ever started him didn't do it good. A 5 year old should already know what a saddle is and also what a bridle is. I had to teach him about the bridle, and he learnwd it pretty quickly...well more like after about 20 times.
I put him in a training snaffle and he did great!
I also found out that he sure does love himself some peppermints!
Also his old owner was right about his ground work besides lunging. He is fabulous! But he did kick out 2 times during a 30 minute session. But That is am easy solution! actually that may be the only easy thing with this horse.
