dark circles, blue veins
and chapped lips
your eyes were brown
and held the world
but now they are black
and hold nothing but
old memories
that i still struggle to recall
months ago, you told me
the end is near
i still remember the tingle, of the previous night's secrets
on my neck.
you were a blur, of chrome and lilac and pretty shades of blue
you were always alive and electric
your smile and laugh, a weapon
but now, you are like
the fizz, of an open soda.
almost gone.
a flame, that was smothered
much too soon
you're still alive
and the end has, come and gone.
leaving you, a pile of brittle bones and a heap of graying flesh behind.
i thought, i could hold on to you, if i fell
but now i realize, there's nothing to hold onto.
