Lawless x Reader; Carry Your Burdens

So I made a really angsty Lawless x Reader and never posted it and from all the support I got on my little rant I decided to post it as a thanks even though this book should be on hold.

"Y/N!" that was the last sound emitted into the painfully dark night of when your eyes finally came to rest, after years of an agonizing fight it seemed to have all ended for you but just begun for another.

His body cowered over yours as it laid lifeless across his lap, the tears spilling down his face splattered across your soft cheeks making it look as though you had cried before your death but really you were happy to find peace.

Peace.

He despised that word with a fiery passion, peace only ever meant pain for him but to all his loves it seemed to be their salvation and not him.

"Oh hey little guy~" her soothing voice echoed across his skull as the image of her alive smiling face lit up his blood red eyes.

"Come back to me Y/N." His hand that now had been covered red by your own blood had found itself clasping desperately on to your still slightly warm hand hoping that he would feel the tiniest squeeze back yet nothing.

"Is this fate saying I'm meant to be your owner?" the same soft voice spoke out as he somehow managed to feel the calming hand she had placed on his back once more sending tingles up his spine.

"Why did I fall for a human again?" All the memories you two had come to share and enjoy flashed through his eyes as though to remind him why he had fallen for a human yet again?

Did he regret it? For now he would at least but deep down he knew all humans come to an end at some point while he would live forever, but what mattered most to him?

Your happiness, not his own, he would suffer for an excruciating eternity but it was your happiness that mattered in the end. You were his master after all, yet his sinful lover.

His tears seemed to have stopped pouring and only left stray marks along his cheeks as he thought about the upsides, how he had promised to take all your burdens as his own even including your death which neither of you had thought about.

Then a weak pressure came across his hand, his body grew paralyzed as he even seemed to stop breathing making him like a real statue, he couldn't even move his head as his red orbs looked down to lock with your fading e/c that made him realize how desperate he was too look into them once more.

"Y-y/n?" he chocked out, the girl he loved was on the brink of death yet not there just yet but close enough that if she dared to move she'd perish in an instant but she still dared, her hand came to his cheek as it wiped away the stray tears but it hadn't done anything for she was far too weak.

He took her hand and put it back down to tell her in his own way that she was too weak for anything, he didn't want her to touch him but just to have as long as he could with her.

"I.. I love y-you.. Lawless" her once soft voice was ragged and faint as though she was far away from him but she really was, she was close to the doors of death while he stood far off into the world of living to the point he would never feel the grasp of death once.

In a rush of panic realizing their situation he brought his bare arm up to her mouth, those same cheerful eyes he came to love grew in fear seeing his arm dangerously close to her mouth and that's when the world felt as though it had stopped.

His arm dropped to her stomach, she was brought into a tight embrace by him not even tasting a single drop of his blood just for her to breathe normally again.

"I promise to carry your burden my love."

She had died in his arms that night, he had seen her smile one last time that night but he would always remember that promise.

The promise to carry her burden, and the promise he made to himself to carry out her dream no matter the costs for she was his world and they would always be apart of the same universe together.
