So, I went to a local music store yesterday that only sold string instruments. However, they did sell wind instrument and percussion books and other maintenance kits. One thing that I found is a product called "Spitballs".
When I first saw it, being country, I thought it was troutfishing marshmallow bait.
Apparently, you're supposed to use a pencil and poke one of those balls about 6 inches down the instruments lead pipe. I would think that you would take the tuning slide out that way it wouldn't get stuck in the valves. After that, you put the mouthpiece back on and blow as hard as you can. I wouldn't trust myself administering this process. Knowing me, the spitball would get stuck about halfway through. Am I right, guys?
