So, in English class today, our Bell Ringer topic was to write about extreme sports and why we think they're extreme. The definition of an extreme sport was anything dangerous or life-risking and required years of practice. Obviously, I had to proclaim that marching band could be considered an extreme sport. Think of how much teaching you have to have to have your skill be at the requirement level! Plus, I would say that running from the Kidnapper and the Accomplice would be considered an extreme sport. ;) ;). As well as enduring the painful squeaks of a clarinet and maybe trombone players that won't stop humming songs from our basketball game!  Also, having to not gag every time a French horn empties their spit valves. Am I right, FluffehDaCat ?
BUT the most dangerous part of marching band OTHER than dehydration would have to be trombone suicide. Or suicSLIDE. I mean, think about it: this has resulted in broken noses and a lot of other head injuries.

So, what y'all think? Is marching band an extreme sport or what?
