Chapter 16: Caught

"Chia, uuwi ka na?" Kallie asked while I'm busy fixing the things inside my backpack, mariin naman akong tumango bilang pagsagot.

"Yep, may tatlong quizzes tayo bukas, 'di ba? I'm going to study." I answered as Kallie glanced at me like I said something really unbelievable and impossible at the same time.

I know that look. Ganyan na ba katamad ang tingin niya sa 'kin? Well, yes I'm lazy but people change, okay?

"Weh? Ikaw mag-rereview? Anong nakain mo? Pinagloloko mo ata ako, eh." aniya, inirapan ko siya as I grabbed my bag and made my way out of the classroom nang walang paalam kay Kallie— technically, sumunod naman siya sa 'kin.

"Uy, ano nga Chia? Mag-rereview ka talaga? Seryoso ka ba?" pangungulit niya so I stopped to face her and showed her how serious I am na mag-aaral nga ako.

"Oo nga, okay? I need to get high grades this quarter, kapag nagkaroon kasi ako ng failing grades, Dad will force me to attend tutorial classes this summer and bloody hell, who in the right mind would like to spend their summer at school?" I explained habang nakanguso, Dad and I made a deal last night na kailangan daw matataas ang grades ko, in return, he will give me a prize which I don't have any idea what it is or what it will going to be.

Tumango-tango naman siya while chuckling, "But you know na it's impossible rin naman na makakuha ka ng failing grades, right? You're Chiara, hindi mo na kailangan pang mag-aral because you're really smart."

Hindi na ako umimik pa as the both of us continued walking, knowing Kallie, hindi siya nauubusan ng topic.

"Have you opened your instagram last night?" she asked again na ikina-kunot ng noo ko, Dad prohibited me to use my social media accounts so I don't know what's happening.

"Nope. Why?"

"Si ano kasi, si Ms. Lea! She posted a photo of three roses last night with a caption saying 'thank you, special someone' with heart emojis!" she told me na ikinataas ng kilay ko. Three roses? Tatlong rosas... Why does it sound familiar to me?

"Talaga? So may love life na siya?" tanong ko, that's good to hear tho. Tita Lea deserves to have someone who will make her happy.

"Ba--- Chiara!" Kallie was stopped mid-sentence nang bigla akong napaupo sa sahig when I suddenly bumped into someone, a girl at my age was standing in front of me; looking furious.

"Huwag kasi paharang-harang sa daan. Tanga." singhal niya sa 'kin na ikina-singkit ng mga mata ko. Ako pa ngayon 'tong may kasalanan at tinawag niya pa akong tanga?

The fuck? Siya nga ang bumangga sa 'kin, hindi ako ang bumangga sa kanya. Tsaka isa pa, ayaw na ayaw ko sa lahat ang tinatawag akong 'tanga', this girl is pretty much annoying!

Kallie led her hand for me to stand up, kaagad ko namang tinaggap 'yon as I crossed my arms in defense.

"Malaki ang daan, you can pass there but you chose to past towards our direction. Ikaw ang tanga." I replied, she was about to say a word pero nadako ang paningin niya sa lalaking papunta sa direksyon namin and out of the blue, tumakbo siya palayo without saying her apologies.

What was that for? Ni hindi man lang siya nag-sorry? Ugh.

"She's weird.." I heard Kallie murmured pero 'di ko 'yon binigyan ng pansin, instead, I took a glance at the boy who seems to be acquainted with the girl.

"You! Come here, please!" tawag ko sa kanya kaya kaagad naman siyang naglakad papunta sa amin.

"Yes? May kailangan ka?" tanong nito.

"I supposed you know that girl who I bumped with earlier, what's her name?" I asked him back, he smiled at me and bloody hell, he's cute but nah, not my type..

"Ah, 'yon? Taginit.. 'yan ang pangalan niya." he answered. Is he serious? Taginit? Is that even a name?

"Seryoso ka? No joke or halong ka-churvahan?"

He nodded in response, "Yup, I'm serious. Taginit is her real name. Unique, isn't it?"

Unique? Anong unique dun? Out of the world, you say. Who in the right minds would name their daughter 'taginit'? That's really, weird..

"Pretty much.." 'yan na lang ang naisabi ko, nagpaalam na ang lalaki kung kaya't pinagpatuloy na ulit namin ni Kallie ang paglalakad.

"Kilala mo ba ang babaeng iyon? It's the first time I saw her here.." I said, still, hindi ako mapakali. I will not let her pass, I need to get even.

"Nope, first time ko ring makita siya rito pero ang lalaki? I saw him here often." she answered, hindi na lang ako sumagot as me and Kallie separated ways, andiyan na ang sundo ko, same with her's.

I went inside our car and the ride went smooth, himala at 'di masyadong traffic. Anyare?

After 20 minutes, nakarating na kami sa bahay. Kaagad akong bumaba ng kotse as I went inside our house, as usual, sobrang tahimik sa loob. Walang tao, eh.

Umakyat ako patungong second floor at bumilis bigla ang tibok ng puso ko nang makita kong medyo nakabukas ang pinto sa kwarto ni Daddy, I also can hear strange noises inside.

Because of curiosity, I decided to peek and the next thing I knew, my hands are covering my mouth preventing it not to say a word. Seeing this situation right now surprises the shit out of me.

Kaya pala pamilyar ang tatlong rosas.. Yesterday, I saw Dad holding those roses as he made his way out of our house. 'Di na ako nagtanong kung para kanino 'yon kasi mukhang nagmamadali siya. So he's the 'special someone'? Bullshit, you say.

Seeing my Dad sitting at the edge of his bed while kissing the woman on top of her, Tita Lea, was disgusting the hell out of me.
