( A Love to Remember )

Lea

Life is fair. Dadating ang panahon ng kasayahan, dadating din ang panahon ng kalungkutan. It's balance so everything that had happened is just purely a fair game to everyone.

Six years had passed. Six years of longing for our eldest daughther's presence but compared to before? We already got used to it dahil alam namin na nasa taas lang siya, nakabantay sa'min. Life must go on.

Sa dumaan na mga taon, our love for each other served as our ultimate barrier to prevent us from breaking into pieces, from falling. Tama nga, masusukat ang pagmamahal sa mga trahedyang maaring dumating. I can now proudly declare that our love is unbreakable, no one can break it because it's strong enough to heal it each other's wounds...

"Where are you going, young lady?" tanong ko nang makasalubong ko si Lhiara na ngayo'y pababa ng hagdan, holding a clutter full of toys.

"Somewhere." maikling sagot nito at akmang lalagpasan na ako but I blocked her way kaya napatigil siya as she frowned while looking at me.

"And where's that somewhere?" I asked again, umirap siya at gusto kong matawa because I found it amusing and cute at the same time for a 6- year old to do that pero pinigilan ko ang sarili ko.

Mana-mana sa Ate..

"To the playground, I'm gonna find some friends who are worth talking to. I hate Barbie, I kept on talking but she's not answering me! Stupid plastic doll!" naiinis na sambit nito, sighing, kinuha ko mula sa mga kamay niya ang clutter at nilapag sa sahig dahil halata naman na nabibigatan na siya dito.

"Sweetie, how many times do I need to tell you that Barbie will never reply because she's a toy?" ani ko, "And don't go, you have tutorial at around 3:00 pm." paalala ko as I took a glance at my wristwatch, it's almost 3:00 pm so anytime from now, dadating na ang tutor nito.

"But Mama, I want to play!" reklamo niya at pinag-padyak-padyak pa ang mga paa nito.

"There's always time for playing Lhiara," I reminded her, "And please brush your hair, ang dungis-dungis mo na." dagdag ko pa habang nakatingin sa buhok niyang nakatali nga pero magulo naman.

"I don't know how to tie my hair Mama.." bulong nito, "I'm not old enough to learn how, I'm just 6." dagdag pa niya, I smiled.

"Come, I'll do that for you." ani ko at hinila ang maliit nitong braso paakyat sa taas, I brought her to our room and let her sit in front of my vanity mirror as I grabbed a brush and started to comb her long hair.

"After this, can I play na?" she asked, kaagad naman akong umiling.

"No. May tutor ka pa, don't be too excited." sagot ko, she pouted but after a couple of seconds, lumiwanag ulit ang mukha niya.

"You know Mama? My dream last night was so fun, sana gabi na ulit ngayon so that I can sleep and have a nice dream again!" pagkwento nito ng nakangiti, making my eyebrows arched.

"Really? What is it about then?" tanong ko.

"Well, it all started when I was playing alone at the park with my stupid plastic Barbie dolls, I'm having a hard time playing since I don't have someone to talk to but then, after a couple of minutes, a girl wearing a white dress and a beautiful flower crown on top of her head approached me! She asked if she could play with me then I said yes so the both of us played together and had a fun time!" napatigil ako sa pagtatali ng buhok niya upon hearing her story at napatulala sa salamin while looking at Lhia's expression, she looked so happy habang nag-kwekwento, "She's so pretty Mama, she's like a goddess --- in fact, she looked like you." she added.
