Chapter 24: Alysse

Lea

Her words kept on echoing inside my mind. Para itong alaala na walang tigil sa pag-replay, it won't stop, it just can't.

I was just looking curiously at Aga habang nakayakap sa 'kin ang babae. Hindi ko siya maigawang maitulak dahil masyadong mahigpit ang pagka-akap niya sa 'kin.

Naningkit bigla ang mga mata ko nang may namataan akong sasakyan na pumarada 'di kalayuan sa direksyon namin, a woman went out from the front seat as she ran towards our direction and immediately grabbed the girl's arm kaya kaagad naman siyang napabitaw sa 'kin.

Anong eksena 'to?

"Alysse! Kabilin-bilinan ko na huwag kang sumugod dito, 'di ba? Mahiya ka nga!" pasigaw na bulong nito sa babae.

Alysse is her name?

Alysse wiped her tears using her thumbs at napayuko na lamang, "Sorry, Tita. I just can't help it.." sagot nito, the woman then look at me as she smiled awkwardly.

"Pasenysa na po sa pamangkin ko, kung ano man ang mga naisabi niya, huwag niyo na pong pansinin." wika nito habang palipat-lipat ang tingin sa amin ni Aga.

After that, she pulled Alysse na parang ayaw pang umalis.

Bago pa sila lumayo, I called their attention kaya agad din silang napatigil sa paglalakad at napalingon.

"Alysse.." I called the girl's name, dahan-dahan siyang lumingin sa 'kin with her eyes swollen, "Why did you call me... Mama?" I asked her and from my peripheral vision, I can see Aga and Chiara's eyes widened in suprise.

"It's because... you're my real Mother." sagot nito na ikinagulat ko. What did she just say?

"Anong ibi—ibig mong sabihin?" I asked again. The woman beside Alysse tried to stopped her from saying a word pero huli na, Alysse spoke at halos mabingi ako dahil sa narinig mula sa kanya.

"Ms. Lea, ako ho ang batang babae na iniluwal niyo sa sinapupunan niyo, ako po ang bata na inakala niyong patay na." she said and before I can even comprehend everything, my visions started to get blurry and everything turned pitch black.

Iminulat ko ang mga mata ko and I was greeted by a familiar ceiling, if I'm right, I'm currently here at Aga's room pero.. ba't ako nandito?

"Finally, you're awake." someone said kaya napaangat ako ng tingin and there I found Chiara, sitting at the couch beside Aga's bed, rolling her eyeballs at me.

'Di ko pinansin ang komento niya at dahan-dahan akong umupo while massaging my temple, my head hurts like hell.

"Anong nangyari?" I asked her, Chiara took a glance at me as she closed the book that she was reading and at the same time, her forehead creased in confusion.

"Nahimatay ka lang, nagka-amnesia ka na?" she asked me back in disbelief, "And FYI, don't ask me what the hell happened because I don't know a thing and I'm fucking eager to know so." dagdag pa nito at napangiwi ako upon hearing Chiara cursed, it's just that, hindi ako sanay.

Well, I think, kailangan ko nang sanayin ang sarili ko. Just like what I said, I can't blame Chiara. Partly, may kasalanan din ako, nabigla siya so that's probably the reason why she's acting like a brat right now.

"Don't get me wrong pero, buntis ka ba?" tanong ni Chiara, breaking the silence. I laughed a little because of that, she assumed that I'm pregnant? Bakit, dahil nahimatay ako? God, Chiara. She do have a playful mind!

"Red days ko so,  don't worry, I'm not." I answered while shrugging my shoulders, tumango lang siya and I can see a hint of relief from her face.

Aga and I have a relationship but of course, we haven't go through that thing.

"Buti naman." she murmured, the door swung open revealing Aga as a smile formed on his face upon seeing me.

"Thank God you're awake!" he exclaimed and sat at the edge of the bed, he leaned closer and kissed my forehead.

"Ew." I heard Chiara whispered, napailing na lang ako as I look at Aga.

"What happened?" tanong ko sa kanya, he gave me the same look as what Chiara did earlier, bakit ba?

"You can't remember anything?" before I can even answer, nadako ang paningin ko nang namataan ko ang isang babae na nakatayo sa pinto, looking at us.

Upon seeing her, tuluyan ko nang naalala ang mga nangyari kanina. It's Alysse, the girl who allegedly introduced herself as my daughter.

Who is she at bakit niya ginagawa ito? In the first place, paano ko siya naging anak? I was there when Sabel died, I was there so what is she trying to imply?

"Alysse, can you come here?" I called, napalingon naman si Aga sa direksyon na tinitignan ko as he waved at Alysse and motioned her to come inside.

Based on her expression, she looks hesitant pero agad din siyang pumasok sa loob as she stood behind Aga.

"Mabuti naman at gising na ho kayo, Ms. Lea.." she said softly.

I cleared my throat, "Sino ka ba talaga, Alysse? Don't you know na pwede kang kasuhan for claiming to be someone you're not? That's illegal and clearly, against the law." mahinahong wika ko pero may diin.

Sumulyap sa 'kin si Alysse and I can sense that she's already in the verge of crying, "Mawalang galang na po, Ms. Lea but, I am not claiming to be someone I'm not, I'm just saying the truth." sagot nito.

"You're lying." I hissed, I can feel Aga's soft hands rubbing mine, trying to calm me down. This girl, this girl.

"I am not lying, it's up to you if you believe me or not basta iisa lang ang masasabi ko; I am your daughter." and that's the last straw before she finally left the room.

I look at Aga but he just smiled at me, bakit ba pinaglalaban ni Alysse na siya talaga si Sabel and heck, how did she even know about that matter? Na may anak ako?

Is it possible na siya ba talaga si Sabel? If yes, then how?
