Chapter 18: Dinner Fiasco

"Maganda ka naman kahit anong isuot mo. You're effortlessly beautiful, babes." wika ko habang kausap si Lea sa telepono.

"Sige pa, bolahin mo pa ako. Just choose na lang kasi, red or black?" tanong nito ulit, may dinner kasi kami mamaya kaya ngayon, tinatanong ako kung ano ang magandang suotin.

I sighed, mga babae talaga o..

"Black, para seductive ka tignan." I joked and burst out laughing.

"Bastos!" aniya, "O sige na, baba ko na ang tawag. See you later babes, I love you!" she added, making me smile.

"I love you too!" I answered then she immediately ended the call. I was about to open the fridge sapagkat nasa kusina ako, gnang may magsalita mula sa likuran ko na ikinagulat ko.

"Who's that?" Chiara asked, arching an eyebrow. She don't know the real score between me and Lea-- I'm afraid to tell her for she might freak out or whatsoever.

"A f--friend." nauutal kong sagot, she rolled her eyeballs at me as she sat at the counter's stool.

"Sinasabihan mo na pala ng I love you ang mga kaibigan mo ngayon?" she asked sarcastically, here she goes again, the bratty Chiara is back.

"Why ask? You don't need to meddle with my business anyway." I said with gritted teeth.

"I have the rights, Dad. The last time I checked, ikaw ang Ama ko ayon sa nakasulat dun sa birth certifcate ko." she hissed, damn, minsan iniisip ko kung kanino nagmana 'to eh. She's like Lea, andaming rason sa buhay!

Pagaralin ko kaya ng Law 'tong si Chiara? Bagay maging abogada eh!

"Tsaka isa pa, tell me, do you have a fling?" she asked again, I shrugged my shoulders. Maybe I should really tell her the truth, there's no way I could deny, she'll probably know about our relationship soon anyway

"Kapag sinabi kong oo, magagalit ka ba?" tanong ko, "And Chiara, I have a girlfriend, not a fling." dagdag ko pa as I corrected her. She seemed to be surprised because of my sudden outburst.

"So you finally admitted it?" she chuckled, "I want to meet her." she added na ikinanlaki ng mata ko.

Should I let her meet Lea? Looking at her now, alam kong may pinaplano ang isang 'to. She's a stubborn kid na kahit ilang beses ko ng sabihan, 'di nakikinig at gagawa ng gagawa ng paraan makuha lang ang gusto niya.

But she's right, she have the rights to meet Lea pero...

"Okay." may the odds be with me! Maghaharap ang dalawang babaeng importante sa buhay ko!

Inis kong e-denial ang number ni Mommy habang palakad-lakad dito sa kwarto ko. What the fuck did just happened? Why did Dad admitted na he have a girlfriend? Ugh, seriously, I'm expecting him to deny it and here he is, admitting it!

Tapos, magkikita pa kami ni Lea? Well yes, I'm the one who said na gusto ko siyang makita pero hello, I'm expecting din na 'di papayag si Dad but he just did! What to do now? Mom's not answering her calls either so I'm left with no choice.

Bahala na mamaya!

"You ready?" tanong sa' kin ni Dad habang pababa kami ng sasakyan niya, we're in front of a huge mansion, Lea's manor to be exact.

Aba, mayaman, I thought. I've never been here before but it's quite huge, mag-isa lang ba siya d'yan? Isn't she scared?

Ugh, wth am I even thinking? Erase that stupid questions Chiara!

I glance at Dad instead, "Always." nakangiting sagot ko. Nauna na siyang pumasok sa loob at sumunod naman ako. The interior design is like victorian style, makaluma pero infairnness, Lea have a nice taste.

We stopped in front of a door as Dad knocked thrice, it opened revealing Lea wearing a black fitted dress, emphasizing her features. Seriously? Matchy-matchy pa talaga kaming tatlo?

Pasimple akong tumingin sa damit ko and heck, I'm also wearing a black shirt paired with pencil skirt and sneakers, Dad is wearing a black polo and pants. Ugh, what's with black? Saan ang lamay?

"Hi Ags, hi...Chiara!" she greeted us na tila nahihiya pa. May hiya pa pala siya? I wasn't informed eh.

Dad went to her direction as he kissed her forehead and interwind their fingers together, kaagad naman akong umiwas ng tingin, avoiding the view. Sakit sa mata eh. It could've been my Mom pero...

"Chiara, this is Lea, my girlfriend." nakangiting wika ni Daddy, I badly want to roll my eyes but I'm just stopping myself not to.

Bakit si Tita Lea pa? She's like.... my second mother pero bakit siya pa?

Silence eloped and it's eerily awkward, Dad is not speaking so as Lea. Nakatingin lang ako sa kanilang dalawa, Dad's looking at me while Lea is looking somewhere else, avoiding my piercing stares. Such a coward.

"So, let's go inside and eat dinner?" Lea said breaking the ice we had earlier, Dad nodded as the both of them went inside, sumunod naman ako.

Mas maganda ang interior sa loob, I thought. This one's really huge, kasing laki ng bahay namin if I calculated it so well. There's a grand staircase, a living room on the right and probably, the kitchen on the left.

We went to the left part at tama nga ang hinala ko, there's the dining hall with lots of food. Naks naman kay Lea, pinaghandaan talaga?

"Upo na kayo, I'll just go get something." wika ni Lea.

"I'll go with you babes." presinta ni Dad as they both look at me with surprise faces like, 'paano na si Chiara?'. I rolled my eyeballs and sighed in frustration.

"Go ahead, I won't do something stupid." sambit ko, Lea forced a smile as Dad gave me his warning look, I just shrugged my shoulders as the both of them made their way out of my sight.

Nang masigurado kong nakalayo na sila, tumingin-tingin muna ako sa paligid and fortunately, no one's here except for me.

A smirked formed on my face as my gaze went to the drinks served on the table. Humanda ka Lea!

"So how's your studies, Chia?" Lea asked while we are eating dinner, si Daddy ang nasa gitna habang magkaharap naman kami ni Lea.

Makatanong, close kami? Oh well..

"It's fine." simpleng sagot ko, tumango lang siya at ngumiti ng tipid. Don't she get it? I don't like talking to her pero kanina niya pa ako kinakausap.

Napangiti ako nang ihanda na ng isang katulong ang mga baso na may lamang juice. Nang ibigay niya sa' kin ang baso ko, ngumisi siya na ikinataas ng kilay ko. Aba, may attitude si Ate? May kasambahay pala si Lea na kung sa hula ko, kasing edad ko lang but that's less of my worries.

I was simply eyeing Lea as she took a drink, so did I. Nilapag niya ang baso after drinking it na tila ba, okay lang siya at walang nangyari.

What the hell happened?! Huli na ng marealize ko na naibigay pala sa' kin ang maling baso and, I found myself vomiting as Lea and Dad worriedly went to my direction.

Tanga mo, Chia! Sakin napunta ang baso kung saan nilagyan ko ng lason na para sana kay Lea. Lalasunin ko sana siya, cliche tho but that's my first step pero kung sinuswerte nga naman, ako pa ang nalason.

Ang sakit ng tiyan ko as I kept on vomiting and the next thing I knew, dinala na nila ako sa Ospital before finally loosing my consciousness.
