IU's POV

"Ladies and gentlemen. Due to inconvenient conditions, our flight will be delayed slightly. Please remain seated as our pilot analyses weather circumstances."

I tuned out the rest of whatever the flight attendant was saying, and slid the cover of the window up to look outside. In the distance, multicolored lights blinked through the rivulets of water running across the thick glass.

Yeah. 'Inconvenient' was a way of describing the tsunami headed towards us. The rain pelted down without mercy, and the roaring of the wind fluctuated at random intervals.

"Jieun!"

I jumped about a mile high, shocked out of my thoughts.

"What!?"

The chatter stopped momentarily, and I found myself at the center of disapproving glares. I shrank back into my seat and tried to make myself as small as possible, feeling my cheeks starting to redden. Eventually, the talking started back up again as I was ignored and put off as strange.

Lay watched me curiously, one brow arched from my sudden outburst. "Are you...ok?" he asked cautiously.

"I'm fine." I muttered, fidgeting with the buckle of the seatbelt.

"Well, I just needed to tell you that once we get there, we'll go to headquarters right away. Also, here's a list of things that you need to review before we arrive."

Great. Studying on an airplane that I'll most likely throw up on.

Reluctantly, I took the thick packet filled with dense print from him, and started reading. About ten minutes passed as I read at a snail's pace, occasionally losing my place.

Static buzzed out of the speakers on the ceiling for a split second. The pilot's voice came on. "Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like there is a brief break in the weather. We will be taking off shortly. Please remain seated, and if you have any questions or concerns, our attendants will be more than happy to help."

The few people who had been out of their seats hurriedly walked back to them, and trays were folded up as flight attendants came around to instruct us on what to do.

I suddenly felt a rush of adrenaline, causing me to sit up straight in my seat. "Did you...hear that?" I asked my brother hesitantly.

"Hear what?" he said, looking up from his own packet.

Straining all my senses, I tried to listen for more of what had triggered such a sensitive reaction from me.

"Never mind." I replied, slowly leaning back in my seat when nothing else stood out to me.

As the plane pulled out into the runway, I stared at the second page in the packet intensely, but at the same time, wasn't absorbing anything.

I brushed my finger across the page absentmindedly, feeling the rumble of the plane's engine running through me as it accelerated to prepare for flight.

For a moment, I thought I had heard Jungkook's voice.

Jungkook's POV

After going through gate security, Suzy, Taehyung and I rushed to the gates of Jieun's flight. It had already taken way to much time to go through that checkpoint, and we were on the edge of missing it.

When I had handed Suzy her letter, she had snatched it from my hands and read it speedily. In the end, the letter had fluttered out of her grasp as she stood frozen from shock.

"Did she tell you any of this?" Suzy demanded, turning her red, watery eyes on me.

"You really think I would've let her go if she had?" I replied steadily, feeling the beginnings of anger starting to creep up inside me.

She bent down and picked up the letter, then crouched there sniffing and wiping her face with her sleeve. Suzy held the letter, reading and rereading it.

"We're going." she said suddenly, standing up and facing me, her face a hard mask of determination.

"Going where?" a voice said from behind the doorway.

"You're coming." Suzy said, turning on her heel to go inside the apartment that I once shared with Taehyung.

Taehyung shot me a wary look, then followed Suzy inside.

"I'll just stand here...in the rain...I guess." I muttered, completely unamused.

Faster than I expected, Suzy came out with a small bag, dragging an unhappy Taehyung along.

Without any verbal communication, Suzy and I reached an understanding. We got into the car and broke about fifty speeding limits as Suzy drove like a madman.

Present...

"Which flight is she on?!" Suzy said desperately, craning her head back and scanning the list of flights to America that were about to leave.

"Found it!" she cried, pointing to flight A14 that was supposed to leave in five minutes.

"It's on the other side of the airport. Why are we even here?" Taehyung asked grumpily.

We dashed through people and luggage, attracting more than a few stares from our lack of luggage. But hey, people are late all the time for their flights, so out running wasn't very out of the ordinary.

Arriving at the gateway and finding it just closing, I ignored the protests and alarm of the woman there and ran past her. I rushed down the long tunnel that I knew led to the plane.

There was no one there, and the first door was still open. Unfortunately, the door to the airplane was closed. Banging on it, I shouted at the top of my lungs for someone to open the door.

Security rushed down the tunnel, and a guard pulled me back just as the plane started to back up.

Taehyung and Suzy rushed down, Suzy ducking around a guard that tried to restrain her only freeze in her tracks to see the nose of the plane go by.

"Sir, you'll need to come with us."

"Nope."

Yeah. We ran.

Somehow, we got a flight to America and looked the other way when anyone remotely security-like came by. It was a good thing I had stuffed my passport into my pocket.

The alarms started blaring after we had boarded the plane, which was another good thing as our flight was one of the last flights allowed to leave. I sank back onto my seat and crossed my fingers that I would be able to find Jieun once we got there.
