Chapter Twenty

Mitch's point of view-

Jerome and I came into Matt's room about twenty minutes after Ash walked in. Ash was asleep on the edge of the bed and Matt was just lying in bed awake,
"All good if we come in now?" Jerome looked at Matt.
"Yeh it's all good now" he replied with a smile.
"How long has Ash been asleep?" I turned to where Matt was.
"Uh couple minutes." he looked at me and I could see the anger in his eyes, he must have wanted to bash me up right then and there. I didn't say anything I just looked back at Ash.
"Mitch, we WILL talk later!" I heard Matt tell me. I looked up at him and nodded.

After a while Ashleigh finally woke up,
"How long have I been asleep?" she turned to Matt, who was half asleep.
"I think about half an hour" he looked back at her and smiled. Ash turned around and looked at me with shock, probably surprised I had the guts to come in here. I could tell that this was going to be a long night... The nurse walked in and looked at Matt,
"You are able to go now, you must be careful not to bash your rib area and when you get home have a lie down then your head will be fine" she smiled then walked back out.

When we arrived home Matt pulled Ash and I aside to talk. Jerome sat in the lounge while we all went into Matt's bedroom. As his bedroom is upstairs I had to help him as he had crutches. We got into his room and Ash and I sat on Matt's bed. Matt sat at his desk looking at us,
"Mitch, you don't know how badly I want to punch you" he said angrily.
"I understand.."
"Matt please can we explain!" Ash quickly said. Matt nodded,
"We didn't want to tell you until we knew for sure it was working between us... I hate keeping secrets from you Mattie! But this time I had to!" she explained. Matt looked down at the ground as tears rolled down his face.
"Matt I'm sorry... if you don't want me here anymore I'll understand" I hated to say this but I needed to give him the choice. To my surprise he shook his head,
"What would that fix?" I looked back at Matt who was now looking at me,
"Aren't you mad at me?"
"Extremely mad!" he said angrily, I looked at him curiously, "but not enough to never talk to my best friend again..." I looked him in the eyes and smiled.
"If you don't want us dat-" Ash was cut off.
"No, you guys are happy together and I accept that" I looked at him again, he didn't want to say that but he obviously felt it was right.
"But Mitch.."
"Yeh?"
"You break her heart and I kill you" he was serious. I looked at him and then at Ash and nodded.
