Chapter Twenty-One

Ashleigh's point of view-

As Mitch and I left Matt's room I wondered if Matt actually meant that we could stay together. I looked up at Mitch and he looked down at me,
"Do you believe him?" I questioned.
"I believe that if I break your heart he will kill me" he laughed.
"No I mean that we can stay as a couple" now I was serious.
"I don't know, he sounded serious"
"I hope he was"

Everything in the house had calmed down. We were all friends again. Mitch had gone up to his room to record with Jerome and Matt and I stayed downstairs in the lounge room. I was just sitting on the couch watching 'Finding Nemo' when a phone started to ring. I looked on the coffee table to see Mitch's phone. It was a blocked number but I answered it anyway,
“Hey Mitch,” the girl on the other end of the phone said.
“Hello? Who is this?” I asked her.
“Ew, you’re not Mitch…”
“Who are you?”
“I would be a girlfriend,” The girl said with confidence. As I listened to this I sat there in shock and felt a tear roll down my face,
“Oh okay, did you call for a reason?” I tried to stay calm as I asked her.
“I just wanted to talk to my boyfriend, is that a crime?!” She shouted at me.
“No… No sorry, I’ll tell him you called,” I hung up the phone and started to cry.

After a while of crying I grabbed Mitch's phone up again and ran upstairs to his room. I flung the door open and he turned around,
"Ash?" He looked at me confused.
"DON'T ASH ME!!" I screamed at him.
"You've been crying? What's wrong?"
"'What's wrong?' 'What’s wrong?' I WOULDN'T HAVE THE SLIGHTEST CLUE OF WHAT'S WRONG!!" He looked shocked,
"Ash I don't know what you’re talking about?"
"YOUR GIRLFRIEND THAT’S WHAT!" I put his phone in front of his face and he looked at it confused. He pulled the phone away from his face,
"But ash, you’re my girlfriend..."
I looked into his eyes and burst into tears, "how could you?! Mitch I loved you..."he looked at me shocked. I ran out of the house balling my eyes out and ran down to the park by our house. I sat there and wondered why he would do this. Why is he cheating on me?! I love him...

I got many phone calls the time I was sitting at the park, 11 from Matt, 7 from Mitch and 6 from Jerome. I didn't answer a single one of them.

After about two hours of sitting by myself with my hands over my face I felt someone pat my back. I looked up and saw Jerome,
"Ash I looked everywhere for you..." He looked worried, "what happened? We heard screaming from Mitch's room but he won't tell us what happened. Well at least not while I was there...” I looked up at him and burst into tears, "Shhh shhh it's okay... Now do you want to talk about it?" I nodded.
"M-Mitch's phone w-was downstairs with m-me and it started to ring, so I answered it..." I started to cry again. Jerome scooted closer to me and wrapped his arms around me,
"Keep going, I can help you..."
"IT WAS HIS GIRLFRIEND!" I burst into tears and pushed my head into Jerome's chest.
"WAIT?! WHAT?!" He sounded angry. He sat up and pulled out his phone, I guess to text Matt. He then wrapped his arms around me again, "Should we go home??" I nodded.

Jerome carried me the whole way home bridal style as I was too upset to walk. He knocked on the door and I saw Matt standing there. Jerome handed me to Matt and Matt took me up to my bedroom. As Matt was carrying me I noticed Mitch out of the corner of my eye, he was all bruised up. Matt had dealt with him,
"I already gave Mitch what he deserved, he is lucky that I'm letting him live... if there's anything you need just call for me."
