Our bags had been loaded onto the plane and we too were getting ready to depart.

Airini stood by our gate, her eyes shiny and her gaze far away. When she saw us, she straightened, sniffed and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.

"Hello everyone," she said, fighting back tears for us "I've had a lot to look forward to while you were all here. You actually saved the hula attraction, I had to run through the streets to get away from all the people who wanted to sign up."

I didn't know what to say. From what Evelyn had told us, Airini had literally saved Funneh and I's life. And she was thanking us?

"No," I smiled "thank you. You welcomed us and are even saying goodbye. We'll miss you so, so much."

Airini blinked back tears and hugged each of us again for probably the last time.

"Well, I'm not good with goodbyes, so let's just say; see you later alligator."

We made our way past her into the artificial tunnel that led to the plane.

Before we disappeared down the hall, Evelyn turned around, a few of her glittering tears falling to the ground.

"In a while, crocodile." She called.

And with that, we turned around and boarded the plane.
