you start by thinking that no one cares.
that no one would miss you.
your depression has isolated you.
eventually you come to terms
with the truth.
people love you.
people care deeply.
this surprisingly
changes nothing.
it does not cure
the despair in your soul.
you want to leave
this place
so desperately
that you resent
every ounce of love
you receive.
