Safe Place

Certain things have been
Keeping me up recently.
Namely,
That I was promised
A safe place in the arms of friends.
Friends who have open arms
To disguise their open mouths.
My safe place
Is becoming the night,
Where I can whisper
These dreadful anxieties
To the stars,
And all they will do
Is twinkle back to me
In their infinite wisdom.
A twinkle, a wink
In the eyes of the sky.
You will be all right,
They say.
We see time laid out before us
And you are here.
You are here
And here you will remain,
Because
You
Are
Safe
With
Us.
