When I was little
I never owned white clothes.
I was told they would be stained
By grass
By food
By drink.
The past two years
I have gotten a lot of white clothes.
I never even try to bleach them.
For bleach does not really "remove" the stain.
It only paints over it.
What's the use in pretending the stains aren't there when they still exist underneath?
What's the use in pretending they aren't stained
By blood
By sweat
By tears
By the stains of growing up.
Ones that will only become larger
If they are hidden.
