"So how'd it go?" Lauryn asked through the speaker.
"Um good," I murmured.
I couldn't face Lauryn with the truth. She would've taken Hayes down. Plus maybe after a while he'll wrap his head around it.
"Why the hesitation?" she asked bluntly.
"Nah obviously it's nerve wracking but he was really supportive of the whole thing it's actually kinda sweet," it pained me to lie but I had to do it.
"That's great Shai. But what about your mom?" she asked.
"You know my mom would kill me a thousand times if should found it," I gasped & started panicking.
"But you can't hide it forever. I mean, the bump," she remarked.
"I'll come up with something," I gulped & closed my eyes, "look I gotta go. I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Bye Shai. Don't worry I got you," she said softly.
"Thanks man," I smiled & dropped the call.
Tomorrow I need to tell him. Fully. No punchline. God I'm in so much shit.
