It was Caitlin's last night on Earth 38 and she originally had plans to go to dinner with her girlfriend Kara but as pre usual the criminals didn't stop and Kara had to go save the night as Supergirl.
Caitlin better then anyone understood that heroes never got a night off, so when that text came she wasn't at all surprised.

However to say that she wasn't slightly disappointed would be a lie. She was, not that she would tell Kara that.

Caitlin wandered out from Kara's bedroom her suitcase wheeling behind her. The slight squeak of the wheel let Kara know of Caitlin's presence be known.
"Hey babe!" The alien said in between mouthfuls of her ever so favourite potstickers.

The brunette always found herself smiling when Kara was around. Even if the darkest day just seeing Kara made it better. There was something contagious about her smile.

"Hey" she offered back. Caitlin leaned down and placed a soft kiss on Kara's head. The blonde reporter smiled up at her with a half eaten potsticker sticking out her mouth

Caitlin shock her head in disbelief. "Im dating a child" she threw her hands up and feel backwards onto the couch.
Kara smiled at her. "I'll have you know I'm actually older then I look" the reporter countered with a joking huff.

The two loves sat in a comfortable silence, Kara finishing of her food while Caitlin was lost in thought.
Kara looked up from her now clean takeout plate at Cait. Her outfit perfectly professional, her wavy hair (Oh how Kara loves Caitlin's wavy hair) and ready for whatever is waiting for her back on Earth-1. That's when it clicked and Kara remembered that tonight was supposed to be their last date night for who knows how long.

A gust of wind blow Caitlin's hair into her face as Kara sped off into her room. Caitlin was focused out of her thoughts when the air hit her, still after all these years with Barry and almost a year with Kara speeding off to save the day, she still wasn't used to it.

Caitlin looked puzzled as Kara walked out of her room holding flowers and wearing a lace pale blue dress instead of her classic sweats. Kara looked down at the flowers while holding them out for Cait to take them. The guilty look of her face, sent a wave of sadness through Caitlin.
"I forgot date night" the alien mumbled. "I'm sorry" her voice was soft, barley heard by Caitlin's human ears.

Slowly Caitlin pushed herself up from the couch. Her hands reached out for the flowers and brushed against Kara's hands as she took them. Smelling the flowers brought back memories of all the other countless times that Kara had brought flowers to her. As Caitlin was smelling the flowers, Kara couldn't help my adorable the brunette even more the she already did.
Might even say Kara found herself falling more in love.

As if on queue the song, their song started playing. Both women smiled to themselves as the memory of the first time they danced to this song and not just that but the first time they danced together.
In one quick gentle move Kara swapped the smaller woman into her arms and they dance. Nothing fancy, just gentle swaying back and forth. Caitlin's arms around Kara's neck, Kara's arms resting on her hips. Heads touching. The two stayed like this until the song was over and a new one played.

Kara was first to speak, her eyes still closed enjoying the moment before it passed. "I had the whole night planned. Fancy dinner at this place Lena recommended, then dessert and dancing on rooftop, lit with candles and lanterns." Kara sighed. She loved being Supergirl but missing out on date nights sucks.

"It goes without saying but I forgive you" Caitlin looked up at Kara, her face soft yet sad. Caitlin knew what was going through her head. She had seen the same thing with Barry and who ever he was dating at the time.

"Hey," Caitlin cupped Kara's cheeks, making the sad blonde look at her. "I couldn't have asked for a better goodbye. I'm here with you. Dancing. It's perfect, I don't need fancy" her words fading into a whisper.
Caitlin stood up on her tippy toes and kissed Kara. Softly at first then as time past and heartbeats sped up the kiss grow more deeper, more passion filled. Letting all the unspoken feelings come out through a kiss. Hands finding their place against the back of necks.

Caitlin was the first to pull back, out of breath. She looked at Kara who had the brightest red cheeks, the ghost of a smile upon Cait's lips at the site.
"I have to go" Caitlin stated softly.
"I know" So much of Kara wanted to tell her no stay, please. I need you. But she wouldn't.
