Chapter 14

       Remember Jeager," Levi gave him information after their traing in the woods. "Retract your cables as soon as possible, you could slice someone in half if they flew into it or a Titan could grab it and set you off course," Levi explained to his brown haired student.
       "Yes sir," Eren grunted, jumping into a salute. Levi rolled his eyes and walked toward the HQ.
       That kids a dumbass, Levi thought as he walked off. He had watched him train with the Trainees and had had expected high results, and those were what he got.

       Eren was putting that information to good use as the Survey Corps. Soldiers flew into the woods, abnormal sprinters not far behind. One abnormal that had the physique of a female had been sprinting after them not letting up one bit. It wasn't just following the humans. It was folowing Eren. Why, he did not know. But he kept flying through the woods, he had been seperated from Miche and the others. His gas was still high. That was a good thing.          
      Eren turned his head, she was still following him. What the hell, he thought as he shot his cable into a tree and looped around it, hoping to flank and lose her. It didn't work as she turned sround and started following. Damn it, he thought as he returned his focus back to his front. She wasn't gaining or losing ground.
      The formation had been broken and chaos had ensued as soldiers flew through the air trying to regroup. The Titan behind him would grab the cables and kill the men. Eren didn't know if she would do the same to him. He continued his flying hoping to God that he would lose her.
       Suddenly a blur flew past him and at the abnormal behind him. Then another, and another, then two more before they ceased. The blurs slowed down when they got close to the Titan that had been haunting him since they entered the forest. He saw Petra, Oluo, Eld, and Gunther. They attacked as one to the Titan, but this abnormal was showing intelligence. It covered its nape with its hand when anyone got close. It was leaning against a tree.
      They took its eyes out and sliced its heel. Eren and the others saw Eld go in for a slice at the nape, going dangerously close to its mouth. "We'll kill you!" He roared. How wrong he was he didn't know, because right when he said that, the Titan leaned forward and claped down on him, snapping him in half with a sickening crunch as she spit him out. Gunther went in for a nape slice, but she crushed him into the tree with her head. He fell to the ground, equipment destroyed.
      "Eld!" Petra screamed in terror as the Titan focused its attention on her, Eren hooked on to a tree, turning comlletely around and accelerated himself toward Petra, hoping to help. She needed to get higher into the sky, the Titan was gaining on her. Pure instinct kicked into Eren as he flew under the Titan and sliced the heel, making it fall. But not before trying to get one last kick and crush Petra into a tree.
       Eren propelled himself forward and dove into Petra, managing to narrowly save her from a brutal death. The two rolled into the grass and eventually hit a tree with a thunk. Petra screamed in terror, her gear's core was destroyed because of the roll, and the female had started crawling toward them. Eren jumped up and grabbed her by the arm. They both started running.
       The Titan was gaining ground and Oluo was doing what he could to slow her down, the nape was hopeless as his blades shattered against it. So he sliced at her hands and arms, doing little to stop her. His gas was running low, he had to stop and regroup with the others. Hang in there kids, he thought as he flew off.
       Eren and Petra sprinted, the Titan not far behind. Eventually, he stopped. "Run Petra, it's after me! Go to Eld's body and see if the core to his gear is still usable," Eren's was destroyed too.
       "I can't leave you!" Petra screamed at him. She had tears in her eyes. He had saved her, she wasn't just gonna let him face this thing on his own.
       "There's no time to argue!" He roared, he was right. She darted toward Eld's body. She prayed that his core was in tact. Her blade casings were a little dented, but functional. It was her core, the area that distributed gas that was broken. She knew Gunther's was broken after what had happened.
       She saw one half of him, but she needed the other. But before she ran off, she closed his eyes with her hands. She sprinted into the other direction, her cloak soaked blood, but she wasn't bleeding. She had been saved by Eren, they had rammed into the tree together, which meant he was bleeding. A lot. Shit, she thought. She needed that core.
      She turned around to see Eren dodging the Titan's hands, holding his ground. He fell to the ground to avoid a swipe, her heel was slowly regenerating. But it would be there any second. Eren jumped up after the hand went over him and rolled forward into her face, he jumped up and punched elbow deep into her eye. He pulled it out, steam engulfing it. He did the same to her other eyes. Then ran toward Petra.
       "Shit shit shit!" He yelled as he ran, his side aching because of the blade that had sliced his side when they landed. His blade from the maneuvering gear whipped around from the cable that attached it and sliced him open. He sprinted toward Petra, who was still looking for half of Eld.
       She abruptly got down on her knees and started frantically shaking and unstrapping. Soon she held the core up and started to strap it on, she dropped it. Eren reached her and started to help her buckle and connect the wires.
       They heard stomping, fast stomping. They both turned to see the Titan running at them, and when she made eye contact, they saw she had one eye.
       "She concentrated her regeneration to one eye?!" Petra screamed in terror, completely frozen. Eren continued to buckle the core.
       He got it.
       "Petra into the trees," he screamed. She broke out of her trance and grappled him and maneuvered into the trees before the Titan could get to them. They were safe, or so they thought. The Titan started to climb.
      "No," she started to sob, covering her hands with her face. "I'm seventeen I don't wanna die," she shook and tremored.
       "You're not going to," he stated. "How much gas do you have left?" He asked her.
       "None," she replied, still sobbing into her hands.
       Without a word he slid out his gas tanks and hers and replaced them, throwing her old ones at the Titan that still had fifth or so meters of climbing. She engulfed him in a hug after she realized what he was doing.He looked down at the Female Titan. She's intelligent, he thought.
      "Oh thank God Eren," she grabbed him and they flew off, hopefully to find Erwin or Levi. She felt his blood soak her arm. "Shit Eren you're bleeding like hell!" She shreaked, worry taking over. They had finally lost the Titan. They knew they would see it again.
       "I'll be fine," he replied, although his eyes were drooping. And he looked pale, and bloody. He was suffering from blood loss.
       They had to get back to Wall Rose quick, a week long expedition lasted and hour. At best.
      After they found Erwin the Survey Corps. Regrouped, put Eren as well as other wounded in carriages and retreated, there were heavy casualties. But Eren Jeager had saved an Elite's life. And she was eternally grateful. Oluo had survived as well. But he wasn't very happy. But who would be.
      They were back at HQ the next morning, where Eren slept soundly, the girl who's life he saved sitting next to him in a chair.
