"That's Tessa." Colin said. The stillness of the room was deafening. He watched Nate look at the chains on the walls that led to the girl. Colin saw him notice what looked like feeding tubes. There was also a recording system by her bed.
"Anna's mother Tessa? How is that possible?" Nate asked looking at Colin. Colin didn't answer. Nate went up to the bed that Tessa girl was lying on. Colin could feel his cheeks turn red but then suddenly felt the comfort of an era coming to an end as if this was what he needed to free him of his mental sickness.
Colin watched as Nate turned the girl over and a look of shock then confusion passed across his face.
"I don't understand." Nate said looking at his father.
"I had her made after I killed Tessa." Colin said as if it explained it all.
"I may have loved my wife but she was such a naughty girl. Tessa killed Anna's brother." Colin said. Nate looked shocked.
"Don't feel too bad he wasn't mine. Tessa was loved by all men and occasionally she slipped and fell for their momentary charms. I hated her and loved her at the same time. It wasn't entirely her fault. She was sick. And she was too beautiful. That is a bad combination. My money is what attracted her the most. She hated children. She was truly a selfish rotten woman, and Anna was blessed not to have been raised by her." Colin said staring at Tessa instead of Nate.
"Tessa didn't have maternal instincts and acted as if she couldn't stand to be around her daughter. She wouldn't even hold Anna after she was born. I couldn't let her ruin Anna's life. She would never have been a mother but an owner as Anna would have been her little slave and she would expect nothing short of obedience. Tessa expected a perfect performance when in the presence to her friends, but we all knew better. Christine raised Anna from birth. Anna would have been hindered by Tessa."
"When Tessa had cheated on me, she got pregnant with another man's child for which she threw herself down the stairs to kill it. I had the DNA of the dead child tested, which was the only reason I found out. After Christine and I saw Tessa slap Anna I reacted the same way you did with Jolene, but I planned it all out beforehand. I had to protect Anna and the only way to do it was to kill her bitch mother. I told Anna that Tessa died of cancer so she would have respect for her and not look for the murderer of her mother. I also didn't want Anna to think badly of Tessa so it would give her an excuse to act like her when she turned into a teenager." Colin said still unsure if Anna had looked her mother up as a model to discover the truth of her death. He thought Anna would have said something if she had.
"I had the doll made because I wasn't handling her death well. At first I got it for Anna and me to help the both of us cope, but once I got the doll home, I just blew up and knew it was going to help me more than it could Anna. To be a better father to Anna I needed to heal, and this was the only way I could do it." Colin said to Nate who was still quiet.
"I was going to get rid of her a long time ago as I felt much better about her death after a handful of years, but I know Tessa's ghost is here so I kept it around to punish her. I knew that if I felt that way still, then I wasn't ready to get rid of her." Colin said as he pointed across the room to the stacked brown boxes perfectly taped.
"All of those boxes are stuff I bought over the years to spoil her like I did in life. I have written a letter and description of where all of it is going. Some of it goes to the girls, but the rest I donated to causes for them to get money out of them. The recorder system has several recordings of her voice and the night I killed her. I made sure my voice was off the tapes but that is my only incriminating evidence which I am going to burn tonight. I take my anger and aggressions physically out on this doll so that I don't with anyone else and sometimes her voice helps to anger me to get it all out." Colin looked at Nate and hoped that with what Nate just told him, he hoped he wasn't offending him into deeper silence.
