Irritated by the memory of his life with Tessa, Colin wanted to walk through his closet and visit her to take out his anger, but knew he wanted to get rid of her in a more ceremonial way instead beaten and broken like she deserved. For Tessa's last day he was going to let her be beautiful. Instead he got out of bed after sleeping most of the morning and stood in front of the windows. The snow started falling hard covering the streets white with the frosting of the clouds. By nightfall the streets would disappear entirely. He was grateful his garage was heated and kept all the vehicles they owned warm.

Frustrated his daughter hadn't called back yet he contacted Nate who responded that he was still tracking Anna and was keeping a close eye on her in case he had to retrieve her quickly. He too was worried about the Jolene situation because he was with them at the bar. Colin felt much better after talking to his son as he always did.

Though Colin was confident in Nate, it irritated him that Anna was heading towards Utah. He didn't know what was in Utah that interested her as they had never visited the state for anything but snow. He had sold one of his resorts there but didn't think Anna even cared as she had only visited it once when she was younger. He wondered how far she was going to go and was shocked that she hadn't turned back yet. He was so sick of her straying, just like her mother. Colin started to get angry. He sent Anna a text but she didn't respond.

No longer able to enjoy the view from his bedroom, Colin slipped on his thick wool slippers and went downstairs to tap a button on his remote to light the fireplace so the lower levels of the house were toasty. The views from his windows were glorious and put him in a better mood. He loved watching the snow glow as it adjusted to the night, but there were still several hours until the daylight disappeared so there wasn't much he could do until the skies were black and dotted with stars. He then would be able to dig out the snow that gathered in the grave he dug for Tessa before he had taken his nap. Fear and sadness gripped his heart. Colin knew he had to change his mindset so he could accept the change that was meant to come if he wanted to enjoy the little time he had left with Anna with a clear conscious.

Sickness threatened to shake his stability to function so he took his mid day pills and heated up a meal left from Chef Caesar but could only eat a few bites of it. He felt in the mood to cook all of a sudden even though Caesar had left plenty of cooked meals for him to live on for the week. Colin wanted to make something fresh so he pulled fresh vegetables, fruit, and steak out of the refrigerator that he was in the mood for along with spices from the extensive rack of choices Caesar left for Nate.

The house filled up with aromas of deliciousness as Colin grilled his steak and made a fresh salad. He was able to eat half of what was on his plate and hoped that it was going to hold in his stomach. He had planned on making his fruit desert but decided to wait until he was sure his food was going to stay down.

Colin was barely a social drinker, but decided since he wouldn't have a quiet week like this ever again, a few private drinks wouldn't hurt. He wouldn't take any more of his medication while he drank, unless he started to get nauseous again, he decided. Colin was confident he would be left alone for the week, as per his request, so nobody would be around in case he turned into a mean drunk, which he had the tendency to do. He barely kept his anger problem in check as it was. Most would describe him as calm, friendly, and even elegant, but there were a few that knew differently. Sometimes he felt like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Quickly he cleaned up his dishes and made a fruity alcohol rich cocktail.

Colin stood in the kitchen preparing an itinerary in his mind while his hands worked with the assurance of a bar tender. He liked the fruity drinks he made for Anna, although the pink, blue, and purple concoctions weren't socially acceptable for a man to carry around in a martini glass, unless he drank with his pinky raised and a gentleman looped through his free arm. Since he wasn't into same sex relationships, he enjoyed the frosty fruit drinks privately or in the company of his daughter, which was rare. Since Anna wasn't around, he added more alcohol than the illusion of it. He actually preferred to drink alone because of the evil thoughts that came to haunt him had a long term effect.
