**| Sang's POV |**

I kept my head tucked into Silas's back as he drove the bike. My eyes stayed squeezed shut, pain stabbing me with every shift I did on the bike. My fingers were twisted in the fabric of Silas's shirt and even though I had originally gotten on the bike with distance between us, that wasn't true anymore.

I had plastered myself to his back the longer he drove, leaning on him for support. My brain tried to shut off but I fought off the darkness. I couldn't pass out on a bike. I would fall and gain even more wounds as the asphalt tore at my skin.

We slowed down to a stop and Silas patted my hand but I didn't let go. I wasn't so sure I could at this point.

"Sang," he whispered. "We're here."

I tried prying my fingers from his shirt, I really did, but my little phalanges really weren't listening to me right now.

"Is she okay?" a gruff voice asked.

"I don't know." I could hear the concern in Silas's voice.

"She's okay," I mumbled.

"If you let me go, we can help you off the bike," Silas said.

I shook my head. "Too stiff."

"Luke, go up behind her and grab her waist to steady her," North said. "We are going to get her to let go."

"Why is she locking up?" Luke asked.

"She's hurt," Silas said. "We had a fight the other night and she hasn't had time to heal. It's her muscles acting up."

I could feel Luke coming up behind me and my shackles rose and my wolf woke herself up, shaking the sleep from her body. My lip curled up into a snarl and the growling started low but grew louder the closer I felt him come closer. I opened my eyes and let out an even bigger growl as I glared at him. He froze only a foot or so away from me. If he came closer, he was losing a limb.

"Sang, let him help you," Silas said with a chuckle. His hands covered mine, ready to pull to get me to let go.

"No," I said, that one word filled with every emotion I felt.

"We just want to help you off the bike. Then you can go inside and rest. Maybe even shift," Silas said.

My brain processed what he said. Even understood it and thought it to be a solid plan. But my instincts screamed no. Luke was not coming near me.

North shifted toward me, as if to take Luke's spot but I growled at him too.

He wasn't coming near me either. I didn't know them. I shifted, pressing myself closer into Silas, trying to find comfort. I drew in a deep breath, letting the scent of the ocean, and underneath that, his wolf, calm me.

"Make them go away," I said into his back.

"Guys, give us space," Silas said.

I felt and heard them back away from me. When I opened my eyes, they were on the other side of the bike North drove.

"Sang, what do you need me to do?"

"I don't know," I whispered. I really didn't know. I didn't understand why I was like this, why I couldn't let him go.

"Okay, we'll figure this out then. I'm going to trying to get you to let go, okay?"

I nodded into his back.

His fingertips trailed along my skin and massaged at my hands. "You're so tense," he said. "Your muscles locked right up."

Silas continued to massage my hands and slowly my muscles relaxed. Another five minutes of his help and I could finally let him go. I managed to straighten from his back, missing his warmth.
